07 Recruiting (CBF40's look at our prospects)

Scott will be a buckeye unless something crazy happens

Cuff seems to be a Buckeye unless Florida offers

Haden is a big fan of th Buckeyes right now, and if he had to choose today...it would be OSU.

Martin is a torn kid, but i expect JT to win out in the end (going to ND wouldn't shock me though)

I am still quite confident in Barksdale. And remember that updates are just that, updates. If I remember correct...last year Samll was "set to go to USC" because of an update. Also, I don't know if any of you follow basketball...but Turner called Illinois his leader in one update, and then verballed to OSU the next week. I think some of you are putting WAYYY too much stock in updates and not following what has been constant throughout.

Figured as much. But how many WR's can we then have with Saine, Haden, Sanzenbacher and A.Johnson... along with Clifford and Torrence?
Saine isn't for sure a WR... Especially with Haw leaving and the prospective haul we are looking good for at WR.

I don't expect us to get both Scott and Cuff. If Scott picks us, UF offers Cuff and he goes there. If Scott picks UF, then I think Cuff comes here, as UF is much less likely to offer.

We look to be stocking up the "speed" category this year...

I don't know. UF needs quite a few CB's, as they are not deep there at all this year... now that Atkins as left as well. They need CB's bad and Scott and Cuff could both be options. However, I don't know of any other national level recruits that they are after, so they may be after some better CB/s then either of them. I love Scott's game though and hope he is the one coming to Columbus. I say that though without seeing Cuff play, and he may be just as good.

Cuff probably has more speed, but Scott is more physical. I think Scott is the better prospect as of now, but Cuff isnt a slouch either.

I think we would take Haden no matter what. He is too good to pass on. I like Scott better than Cuff by far. Scott is so physical and the only CB's I liked better on film than Scott was Eric Berry and RoJo. Now Cuff is tough but I would much prefer Scott because I see Evege as a pure cover CB and that's what I see Cuff as. He could play WR but we do have Saz and AJ there then you could have Haden coming in and Clifford and Torrence could both play there. Say we get these guys in the speed category:
Oliver, Evege, Saine, Herron, Sazenbacher, Johnson, Clifford, Torrence, Scott, and Haden. Now that would be 10 schollies on speed and the first 6 are in, the next 2 are a matter of time, the next looks like a matter of time as well, and we have a great shot at Haden. I would think Cuff would get left out.

I agree and anyway you look at it we are going to have an abundance of speed guys. I would love to see them make a strong push for Hankerson...and if I had to choose between he or Haden I would want Hankerson b/c of the fact all the other guys we brought in were right around 5'10''-6'.

Hankerson is a Miami lean right now and I think it will come down to how much they want him.

Have they offered Hankerson? I would personally take Haden just because of the great athlete he is. Hankerson is very tough and fits the mold of the type of WR we need but I think Haden is the better player. However, I tend to think if we miss on these Florida guys, especially Hankerson, that Washington could get that offer.
