If someone had told me last week the Tribe would have a 3-1 lead with neither Sabathia nor Carmona having a win, I would have had them committed.
I can't say it enough... I love this team.
:groove:
Edit: And fuck Manny. I've never been happier to see him not in a Cleveland jersey.
Are we sure Varitek isn't the six-fingered man?
I tried the radio on Saturday, but there was a two or three-second delay on the television broadcast. Tom Hamilton was telling me a pitch missed outside as the pitcher was starting his windup. It got pretty annoying.
I think Dublin area is right. I have a friend who has seen him at the Andersons on Sawmill on occasion. As he put it, "Time has not been kind to him."
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
Nah, I think he's just an idiot.
Seroiusly, though... how fun is this team? I love the fact that any given player can step up and be a hero on any given night...
The ace starter is struggling? CC and Fausto can't get Ortiz and Ramirez out? Not a problem - somebody like Mastny will step in...
Agreed. While last night was disappointing, we couldn't have reasonably expected more than a split. And the way Carmona has been pitching lately, I feel good going into tonight.
Sadly, I just got my email telling me that I have not been selected in the lottery for the opportunity to buy division series tickets. :(
Edit: Perhaps that's for the best. As hot as Blake has been lately, I did watch him stare at strike three for the third out in the ninth on Sunday. Maybe...
I thought you were our official magic number updater... :p
Nine is correct. Indians won Friday and Saturday... lost yesterday. Detroit has won five in a row.
Gonna be a big week!
Sure.
I guess my point is there's no safe bet, even with a "slam dunk" closer.
So... maybe in some sense, it's good to not have too much reliance on a closer. Maybe it will spur more care by the starters and middle relievers to not allow games to be so close, or encourage the hitters to...
Blowkoski makes me wince every time he takes the mound, for sure...
However, I hate to bring up bad memories, but where exactly did trusting Mesa get anyone?
I'm just hoping run production stays on the upswing so we don't have to rely on a closer so much.
