Nebraska basketball went into the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois, without Cam Mack, but fought hard until its team ran out of juice late in a 71-59 loss to Illinois.

The loss is Nebraska’s 12th straight defeat in Big Ten play and third-straight loss by double figures.

Despite the lopsided score line, Nebraska actually hung tough with Illinois throughout the contest, packing the paint and forcing the Illini to have work it inside or hit shots from outside. The Illini largely struggled at both, shooting just 39 percent from the floor and an ugly 26 percent from behind the arc on the night.

However, Nebraska had no answer for Illini big man Kofi Cockburn, who finished the night with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
