I get pretty wired. I can actually skip two nights without too much issue. Tried three for finals once in college... okay, two for finals and one to enjoy being done with finals. That was a bit rough. I'm tons more productive this way, though. Too tired to think about distractions, so work zooms on by. I think I just solved several somethings the folks at work have been puzzling over for months... yay! But I don't have months to implement it, just a few days, and this is Ye Olde Family Holiday Week.

Any progress on your database dilemmas?
I didn't go to sleep yesterday. Sure is good for getting lots of work done. And for hallucinations. Hey, what was that?
That's not an exact replica of the table, but the basic idea of it. You type in your name next to an item and hit submit to update the page with your name there.

It doesn't have to be mysql either, if you have an easier idea for a dynamic potluck signup page. I've searched around for anything for about a week with no luck.
I went to one of the first ones in Louisville and the first two out West (vegas and la), but the crowd started to get lame. It's a shell of its former self. Buncha fucking amateurs.
I've never actually worked in MySQL, but I may still be able to help. 2 real questions come up from this: do you need the SQL statement to make the table? and is that an exact replication of the sign up?
Lebowskifest started in Louisville, no? My sister just moved there. I'm thinking Lebowskifest may be a good time to visit her.
Some day I'll tell you about the early days of Lebowskifest. Before it got compromised by a buncha assholes who did not have the necessary means, necessary means to succeed on a level field of play.

For those of you who could help me...

the database/asp pages worked fine until we switched webhosts, which don't support CDONT code. So if it's easier to figure out how to convert CDONT code to CDO, let me know.
Wondering if you could point me in the right direction...

1) I took PHP, ASP & MYSQL classes 7 years ago and successfully forgot everything I learned.

2) I remodeled a hideous church website, but when we moved to the new webhost, the CDONT language was not supported, so our potluck signup pages (ASP & database files) died. Like I have any idea how to convert it to CDOSYS

3) I need a virtual signup sheet. 10 rows, 4 for entrees, 2 for desserts, etc. A user goes to the webpage, types their name (like signing their name at church), and hits submit. Also need to be able to reset the form.

Do you know of a quick way to do this for a PHP/ASP illiterate feller like myself? Or could you point me in the right direction?

I've googled for way too long, but perhaps my illiteracy is hampering my searches.
Sorry, I work in the admin arena. My programming is generally limited to scripts I write for admin tools. You could always post it in the technology forum and see who can help. It sounds like something for which Deety might be a good resource.
I've got a finished website, but the transition to the new webhost killed the database driven sign-up tables (potluck dinners). Timewarner doesn't support cdont

I studied CompSci for a little bit in school, but it's been awhile, and I remember very little about my php & mysql endevours.

What is the simplest way to build a basic signup table? Basically a virtual rendition of a signup sheet:
Description | Name
Entree _________
Entree ________
Entree ________
Napkins ________
Dessert ________
Submit

And something that the leader of the group can zero out for the next monthly dinner?

Is there a simple template to work from for something like this? I've googled till the cows come home and haven't found anything, but that may be my illiteracy clouding my search.

try desaturating the midfield logo a bit. It's a bit too dominant in a very muted design. You lose the excellent bg graphics (the sky, the rose bowl, etc) because of it.
there was a spammer yesterday who had made some posts 12-24 hours earlier that were deleted by you, but he wasnt banned. Thought maybe you didn't know about that 1 stop shopping
