COACHES BUY OUTS, HOW MUCH IS RIDICULOUS

Would imagine it would be hard to get a superstar coach to leave a comfortable gig, to take a team that just tanked their coach, without a hefty incentive to leave. The corporate football mind used to be, to give a coach three years to make it into a winner, but don't believe that's the case any longer. What do you believe it will take Matt Ruhl to leave Nebraska for PSU? He's got that program on the upswing, but has admitted his love for PSU, the AD, and probably the dirt on which PSU resides. Does Nebraska up the ante, give him more cash, AND a big buy-out, should/when the donors/fans/administration fall out of love with him? (kinda looking forward to when Raiola moves on). And (absolutely zero knowledge here), figuring PSU has more and better donors, to woo him to 'come home' to his alma mater for an increased payday. Dunno, but it's a great place to be in. Cignetti has also been mentioned, but don't see a home-tie incentive other than more money.

PG/SG Kelsey Mitchell (Big POY, 3x All-American, OSU All-time Leading Scorer, WNBA All-Rookie Team, 3X WNBA All Star, All-WNBA, Indiana Fever)

Deservedly so. Certainly stepped up, and with CC out, she certainly got more looks. Can be disputed, but believe her game has elevated since she lit it up at tOSU. Don't believe she drove as much as she does now, and always amazes that the smallest player on the court goes inside against all the tall timber, and wills the ball into the basket. Love it. Count us among the people that turn on the Fever (and not for rest of the league), mainly for CC, but now for Kelsey. As to the refs, have seen better Jr Hi refs than these buffoons.

Northwestern reveals plans for new $850 million Ryan Field

When Northwestern opens the new Ryan Field in 2026, it will not only be the largest stadium project in college football history, with a price tag of $850 million, but possibly a model for future stadium designs around the sport.

Plans for the privately funded stadium, supported mostly by the Ryan family, were revealed Monday and shared with ESPN. The new Ryan Field has elements from recently constructed NFL stadiums as well as soccer facilities in MLS and the English Premier League. The stadium will have the Big Ten's smallest capacity at 35,000, but emphasizes the experience for each spectator, which includes sightlines much closer to the field than traditional bowled stadiums, because of structural steel in the base of the stadium.

"Our worst seat in this stadium is 100 feet closer to the field than the most expensive seat at the Big House," ......... said Pat Ryan Jr., co-CEO of Ryan Sports Development, referring to 107,601-seat Michigan Stadium. "You're building things up and cantilevering them over instead of going out. It's structurally much more challenging from an engineering perspective, but you've got to create better-than-TV sightlines."

Ryan, whose family is a minority owner of the Chicago Bears and has a stake in the EPL club AFC Bournemouth, surveyed multiple recent professional facilities during the design process. The new Ryan Field will feature a canopy that covers the entire seating area but not the playing field, and is designed to maximize sound. Northwestern's student section will be positioned and designed more like a supporters' section at top soccer stadiums.

Lower.com Field, which opened in 2021 as the new home for the MLS' Columbus Crew, was the "most influential," Ryan said, in shaping the design.

"A lot of people look at first-of-its-kind and say, 'Oh, it's just a mini NFL stadium,' but it's really something specific for college," Ryan said. "Every college we've seen has said, 'We know we need to think about doing something like this, but somebody needed to go first.' Everybody else is saying, 'We're going to watch closely, and if it works, we'll come see it.'"

Coaching Changes.. Hoo - Ra!

After leaving the Ohio State football program, these coaches are living nightmares

These coaches might be thinking twice after deciding to leave the Ohio State football program.

The Ohio State football team continued its undefeated streak after taking down the Illini on the road 34-16. They continue to be the top-ranked team in the country and look like an absolute juggernaut. As good as the team that won the national championship was last year, this one might be better.

It's hard to have it better than the Ohio State Buckeyes right now. They are the favorites to win the national championship, and no one has really challenged them up to this point. They are a total nightmare for opposing teams to face because of how dominant they are.

Two coaches decided to leave the Buckeyes in the last couple of years in order to pursue opportunities that they believed were better. Tony Alford left for Michigan, and Jim Knowles left for Penn State. Both have to be regretting their decisions to leave Columbus.

Two former coaches have to regret leaving the Ohio State football program after nightmare seasons

Knowles' defense got torn up for the third straight week as Penn State lost at home to Northwestern. It's the third straight loss for them, knocking them out of any chance to make the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes wanted him back, but have clearly upgraded the defensive coordinator spot by hiring Matt Patricia.

Tony Alford left the Buckeyes high and dry last spring during spring practice. He decided to leave for Michigan, becoming the ultimate traitor. That move looked stupid after Carlos Locklyn became the new running backs coach and won the national championship last season.

Alford just watched his team lose to USC, which means both times TTUN has played a good team this year, they have come up empty. His running backs were only able to muster 3.5 yards per carry against the Trojans, which means he's not doing a great job.

Ohio State football fans are glad both coaches are gone. Knowles will always have a soft spot in fans' hearts due to his helping the Buckeyes win a title, but Alford has no love in Columbus. He's the ultimate traitor, and it's sweet to watch him fail with TTUN.

Just sayin': Ohio State (football program and fans) hasn't missed either of these 2 assistant coaches at all; in fact, they are now actually better off with their replacements. However, do you think either one (or both) now regrets leaving?
