WR Quincy Porter (transfer to Notre Dame)

Supposedly payed 2 million for them accroding to irish forum. Which is insane for a kid who is hurt and barely played
That’s nuts. So many 2nd and 3rd year players (not just OSU) with little college production getting a big payday based on HS recruiting stars. I mean good for them

Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Agreed, both bigs are improving. Elsa, started playing like she wanted 'the last pork chop on the plate', and got down with it. Kitts seems to have a way about her, always around the ball, and coming up with it more and more. Very refreshing. One thing, do wish that both would get more elevation when they rebound. Not certain their vertical rise is all that good. a 6'6" player could play at 8-9' if they jumped. Just saying....
Don't think people are around to teach them really "how' to jump or what muscles to strengthen to do it well. I know I wish Id had someone when I was developing teach me. Girls really get too little of that imo.

So this is it.... (or is it?)

Donate a $100 and you get to pick one name to ban.

Let's make this fun

Seriously though, let me know on a number. If it's cost @heisman ~100k over 3 years that's like a 3k per month KTLO?

gotta be a way to come up with that between what 50-60 guys here? That's at least 200 points of IQ between us.

Come on damnit, think!!

Buckeye Planet NOT shutting down (Plum Diamonds)

I had no idea it was going poorly.. i very sad to see it go.. honestly if this site goes away i think that will be the final nail my loss of interest in college football.. this site has been my homescreen for over a decade.. and one of the only places i go for news because i know if someone says something too out of pocket theyll get corrected.

Cincinnati Reds (2026 Season Thread)

The number on the left is the number of games I probably would watch or listen to this season if not for the new challenge head tap rule for balls and strikes. I've seen it at Clippers games. I think I'll be good after a couple games, when the luster wears off, just to see the new thing in mlb. Why invest 6 months.
I might say the same but since summers a long hot sumbitch without the occasional thing to laugh at!

2027 VA OL Carter Jones (Clemson Verbal)

I wonder, do our coaches have an amount allocated to them to spend, or is there a running balance that needs be drawn upon when looking at recruits. Do the coaches spend a huge amount on one player, and then use the rest of their NIL to build depth, with lesser lights? Or is the strategy kept under wraps like nuclear launch codes? Anyone got some insight?

So this is it.... (or is it?)

I've reached out to heisman. Things are very different for me than they were 3-5 years ago, and I feel far more able to keep the gerbils fed so the wheel keep turning. I'm sentimental in my old age, knowing online fora are dinosaurs, but when I got a text this morning about the site shutting down it was a kick in the stomach (so much personal history here, not just for me but many others). Have made and lost very close friends here, we've all lived and cheered and mourned through so much.
Whatever you need, I’m down.

tOSU Recruiting Discussion

On a strictly numbers standpoint, tOSU is getting crushed. Also from a talent level. Believe there are a couple of pearls there, but not enough to provide competent back-ups where there are now gaping holes (see WR, DB, OL, DL). Wonder if the lack of OL transfers in indicate that Day & Co feel that tOSU can field a better OL with current players, and guys with zero chance to see the field are looking elsewhere? Thought we'd see a top flight OT(LT) enter the fray, but not certain they're available, and if so, not for us. Am too long in the tooth to really worry that there's zero K on the roster, and or two upcoming classes have been gutted, and replaced with one year players. OK, might have exaggerated a tad, yeah, I'm worried.....

2024 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Might suggest that now the Players have learned the rules of this new game. Some of the players go to smaller schools and excel, and then leverage their 'minor league' experience to the bigger/better teams via the portal. Others sign with, and get the training from, the better schools, with better coaches/facilities, etc and then leverage THAT into more NIL cash. Some are taking their skillset and contributions, and looking around to see where they can make a bigger impact (look at the QB carousel). Someone wiser than I might see how many QBs in the playoffs are with the team they originally sign with. And do a correlation with their original NIL $, versus what they're pulling in now....

Buckeye Planet NOT shutting down (Plum Diamonds)

Apr 29, 2004. People talk about needing a third-place. That place between work and home (and, often, in this case at work). I've had a few in- person places (teams, pubs, clubs) over the past 22 years, but this has been the only virtual and continuing one since I was 34 (oh, but that math is painful). It also became IRL along the way for which I will forever be grateful. Thank you, Clarity, mods/admins, and Heisman. If there's a way to keep things going, I'd be in, but sometimes you have to let good things just be what they were and appreciate that. I really do.

Buckeye Planet NOT shutting down (Plum Diamonds)

Count me as one who will make a monthly contribution (in addition to the current $79 $49 subscription price).

I was fortunate enough to hear about this site shortly after the founders made the move from Bucknuts. Along with this being my only source for Buckeyes info I've been fortunate enough to meet a couple of you clowns in person, and a couple others with online conversations. Josh even guided me through getting a 75" tv years ago and showed me the benefits of belonging to Costco for electronics purchases. I am indebted to Clarity, Deety (RIP) and numerous others for their invaluable contributions, not to mention Heisman stepping in to save the site last time it was in trouble.
