I still remember Denzel Burke tamping down the hype before fall camp, saying something about JJ like "yeah, he's got a lot of hype, but we'e got a lot of good players here too, so I have to wait until I see it" and then they asked him again after a few practices and he was like "yeah, he's incredible"

Reminds me of reporters asking the Cavs about LeBron James before he was drafted, guys like Darius Miles and Carlos Boozer. They all downplayed him

Eva Marie Saint passed away at 102.

She won a supporting actress Oscar for On The Waterfront. She also shared some memorable moments with Cary Grant on a train and on Mount Rushmore in North by Northwest. Two excellent movies.

Bowling Green grad (Class of 1946).

North By Northwest is one of the best movies ever made. Saint and Grant were excellent together.

Dude benched 400 as a WR at OSU. One of the fastest, strongest pound for pound athletes we've ever had. Maybe anyone's ever had.

The term "freak" gets used way too much these days with the tech and advancements in sport but Joey was truly a freak from way back.

Might be the fastest ever at OSU, at least for 40 yards, although I'd take Ginn over anyone we've ever had for 100 yards.

Cleveland Guardians (2026 Season Thread)

You got to sit Angel Martinez at this point. I know Halpin/Fry/Schneeman all stink but I think you are least have a chance at them accidentally landing on base. Martinez is all in his own head at the moment just wildly hacking at anything and everything, the opposing pitchers know it too, and he always seems to find his way to the plate in major situations, like with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 1st last night. Which of course he struck out haplessly swinging at a pitch a foot out of the zone.

B1G career records still in reach:

B1G career receiving yards:

3,790 - actual career yards for John Standeford, including bowl games following 2000 and 2001 seasons
3,618 - John Standeford of Purdue’s “official” conference career yardage record, since 2002 started including postseasons

B1G career receiving TDs:

39 - Braylon Edwards

The NCAA marks for yards (5,285), catches (399), and TDs (60) are out of reach since he’ll only be here for 3 seasons,

Good call on the bowl stats being added in.
