2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Since I'm a glutton for punishment, I went back to watch the first four drives to see how consistent the silent count timing was, as it relates to Miami being capable of timing the snap.

Amateur timer here with a cell phone app. I stopwatched it from when Luke gave the ready signal to when Carson snapped it.

First 4 drives

Delay in seconds between luke tap and snap

On the pick six, bain was a yard off the ball and moving forward before the snap began. He hesitated a moment, otherwise he probably could have hit the ball before it fully left Julian's hand.

2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

I think the proper way to look at 2025 was fools gold. The offense should have been the issue with a new QB, new oline and running backs. What was not expected was the way the defense played. They were way way above expectation, to the point it looked like the team was unstoppable.

It really was a rebuilding year, hidden beneath a better than expected year. I for one believed there would be a serious drop off for a season, but I bought in that maybe there was something more. There maybe was and wasn't.

What did we learn. Sayin showed promise, but understandably needs more time. The running backs for sure need more time. The offensive line needs more time.

Now, OSU is at a unexpected place where the defense did so well that starter who we believed would be here for the 2026 season are gone, and they are looking at a rebuilding, and the offense may hit its stride.

Interesting times. Hope JJ doesn't bolt.
Agreed with this mostly. No stats to back this up whatsoever but I'd bet Ohio State was probably the least experienced team in the playoffs or at least close to it. The final four are teams filled with grown men. Sayin with another year under his belt probably beats Miami by 2TDs or more due to seeing open receivers better and knowing how to avoid pressure. Probably doesn't throw that pick six either.

When you think about it more rationally, it's probably a miracle the offense wasn't fucked more given the immense amount of talent lost.

Non-Playoff Bowl Games Discussion Thread

ESPNs ever so great FPI has 5-7 Miss State ranked 17 SPOTS above 8-4 Wake Forest lol. You'll have people from the same company that uses the FPI to pimp the SEC still claiming this was a mismatch favoring Wake Forest though even though their own biased ranking system says otherwise
The truth is what you spin over and over again….

OL Devontae Armstrong (National Champion, transfer to ???)

As bad as the offensive line played, everyone should’ve got a shot. Hell, Diebler plays the whole damn team in basketball. Brothers always play good together and generally pick each other up. Now, we probably lose both. This team is starting to have very little depth at a position that already underwhelms a lot!
No offense, but this is a bad take. The twins were developmental projects from the start and everyone knew that. They played in a system that used their size, but they didnt have good technique comparable to their competition on the team. You dont just play guys to play guys when you only have 12 regular season games, especially if it's been shown that theyre struggling to get down technique and plays and speed of the game. Both were being passed up and next year they would more than likely be passed up even more.
Best of luck to where they land. But I can see a drop down in levels for them if they want to actually play

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

I feel the same about the Pitt LBer. Very high on both Pettijohn and Alford so don't think that's the miss some are making it out to be.
I agree. We have Pierce too so I don’t think the money is best spent there.

According to Birm, OSU has not confirmed there’s a visit and it was the PITT players camp saying that to drum up interest.

I’m fascinated with the direction they’ll go. I think players like Grady at DE could make that jump next year to be a starter. But there’s no denying we need depth and depth that can contribute

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

Yeah, you pay someone like Dylan Stewart almost whatever it takes, not Coleman
Exactly. Which is why you pay for Koi who had 5 INT as a true freshman and then fell off this year when they changed coordinators and lost skill.

Spend money on the guys who have proven it. Chaz would be great but 1 sack is not proof of anything. Much prefer proven guys whether that’s MAC kids or power 5.

Side note, I wonder if Atkinson could move to DT?

What exactly does a "do not contact" tag mean? Are teams only supposed to contact the agent? Are they just wanting to renegotiate with their current team? Do they already know where they are going?
