After the performance by the OL last time I suspect the OL wants to redeem themselves. Add that with knowing their DL is their strength and without a doubt I expect their best in 9 days.
I also think the staff isn’t going to just drop back and keep Julian stationary too. They’re going to start moving him, and certainly calling plays that aren’t as long developing. Unsure why but there were a ton of long developing plays vs IU.
No this shit should be variable, realistically it should be 4 maybe 5 this year. We’re gonna end up with 4 more game like Aggy vs Da U and OU vs Bama. None of those 4 teams belong in the playoffs
You’re not wrong, but top tier college football is a professional sport now. So the only metric that matters for the playoff team selection process is maximizing television revenue. The playoffs are going to expand to at least 16. We’ll be lucky if it doesn’t expand beyond that. If you think it’s bad now, wait until private equity gets involved.
What he has is an exceptional understanding of the despair inside the TCUN fan base. A lot of them think he's a hero. They will do anything to rise to the top, not remembering the fragility of being a floater when someone flushes.
This was probably the best we've looked all season and really thought we were going to pull out the W. UNC looked pretty good but I think we're still figuring out our identity and the right guys to get the minutes they should be getting. This would have been really good for the tourney resume, but the real work is still going to be in B1G play and not losing games we shouldn't lose/pulling off a few wins where we're not favored. I have way more optimism about that happening than the past few years or so.
It's funny how crazy football stats are now. People, myself included, complain about the running game. Oh, so what were the running back's stats? Like 500 yards on 3.5 yards a carry?
Rewatching The Game, I think he's primed for some big plays. We're sure as hell going to need to run the ball against them even though their defensive strength is up front. Then again, they're probably about the same as ttun's front 7 and we took care of them for the most part.
And hopefully 100% healthy, I know he will really want to show out in this game and we need him to for the W imo. I'm sure he'll be extra motivated for this one.
Great write up. Only differences I would have is a narrow pure decision for Davino, same for Mendez over Echemendia, Elam only gets a major decision at 197, and Paddy loses at 165 by decision (that one is a pure toss up to me, but he could be riding momentum from the earlier matches if we start hot). So I would have team score at OSU 23 - ISU 13 (check my math on the score).
There are some definite toss ups and it's a great match on paper, hopefully we get on the momentum train like the Iowa dual and don't look back. Looking forward to tomorrow!
That's the biggest thing I'm concerned about, our OL better watch the film from today by noon. They'll focus on doubling Jeremiah like all teams (especially Miami since he turned down their money to come here). If we neutralize their defensive front, we should have plenty of success on offense without the hurricane force winds blowing against us like today.
I feel confident in Matty P and Day to have us ready to go in this one. Already starting the countdown.
Doubs seemed like he just took his eyes off the ball like he was afraid of getting hit. It wasn't even a particularly good onside kick, it went right to him. Shoulda been a easy catch and cover.
Werenski out and unable to out any weight on his leg. And another loss due to a late goal in the 3rd period when they half-ass it in their defensive zone and can’t clear the puck.
