Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

It seems like the CBJ are out of the running. That’s ok. It also seems like someone is going to massively overpay for a borderline (statistically) 1st center with injury issues.

Dylan Larkin has submitted a list of only three NHL teams that he will accept a trade to from the Red Wings (report)

According to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press, Larkin has indicated that he would waive his no-trade clause for only three teams: the Vegas Golden Knights, the Minnesota Wild, and the Florida Panthers.

Larkin still has five years remaining on the eight-year, $69.6 million contract ($8.7 million AAV) that he signed with Detroit during the 2022-23 campaign. He holds a full no-trade clause in that contract through the 2027-28 season, after which it becomes a 10-team trade list for the final three years of his deal.

Four-star UK QB signee now says his top goal is to sign pro baseball contract

Matt Ponatoski, a Moeller High School football and baseball standout who committed to play quarterback for the Kentucky Wildcats, said the MLB draft in July remains his first option.

“Option 1A is to go be a (MLB) draft pick and go get drafted and go be in an organization at 18 rather than go to college and be in an organization at 21, which is not a bad option either. I want to be drafted. That’s 1A for sure.”

And the chances that he never makes it to campus appear to be increasing. “I think people who don’t talk to me face to face might get an idea that I want to go play college football,” four-star quarterback signee Matt Ponatoski said in an appearance on Overslotbaseball.com podcast that published over the weekend. “I do, but that’s option 1B.

In February, UK baseball coach Nick Mingione said his staff had already coordinated with the new football staff to develop a plan for Ponatoski to play both sports in college. At the time, Baseball America ranked him as the 56th-best 2026 draft prospect, but those rankings have slipped over the course of his senior season. Now, Baseball America ranks him as the 55th-best high school prospect in the draft, but outside the top 100 eligible players at No. 139.

3 straight misplayed bunts and the 7 straight walks are two little league level happenings in the same season....and it's just now June.

If we had an owner that cared, they might take that as a sign that said owner employs unserious people.
I remember a game in Babe Ruth league where we scored like 15 runs on two or three hits because the opposing team's pitcher couldn't get the ball over the plate. I remember swinging at a ball almost over my head because I didn't want to walk and then stand on a base and then another base as he continued to walk people.

I was going off of this as the volume of his betting and I am placing no judgement on it. He broke the rules he was punished, the oil booster gamed the system.

My eyes roll out of my head when I hear/read people talking about the "integrity" of college football. It's barely ever had any at all.
Don't worry about the integrity issue. We all know that's bullshit. Look at this as an opportunity to kick Texas Tech in the balls. Fuck them and their oil money.

Re: Sorsby admitted to placing at least 9,000 impermissible bets (exceeding $90,000) on his team’s games while being a member of Indiana football program in 2022

Just sayin': Yeah, but those "micro bets" really added up. The NCAA rules on betting apply to all members of the team, i.e. not just the QB1 and/or just to all players listed in the "2 deep" lineup.
While Sorsby was enrolled at Indiana from June 2022 to December 2023, he acknowledged making at least 2,900 bets that totaled more than $30,000.

Between Sept. 2, 2022 and Oct. 22, 2022, Sorsby made at least 40 wagers on Indiana football and/or individual members of the team. According to the documents, the bets ranged from $1 to $114 and totaled at least $850.

Here's a classic Red line up. Names Like Eric Davis, Dave Parker, Buddy Bell, Barry Larkin, Bill Gullickson

1st inning, Dave Parker batting and Harry Carey refers to him as "this big gorilla"
So after Bill Gullickson strikes out the side Harry Carey says "It's K-K-K here in the second!"
