ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

SO LONG, FAREWELL. The Big Ten has now won three straight national championships: Michigan in 2023*, Ohio State in 2024 and Indiana in 2025. The second title is obviously the most meaningful around these parts, but the third could come close — because it means ESPN’s Paul Finebaum must leave the United States!

There’s a 0% chance Finebaum follows through on his ridiculous claim, but I have had fun imagining him hosting his SEC radio show in Canada, Mexico or another continent. You think people like Phyllis would still call in and share their two cents about Alabama?

Oh, and check this out. Curt Cignetti's daughter took Finebaum to the woodshed on Tuesday, too.

Get him, Natalie!

Ohio State Set to Replace Video Board in North End Zone of Ohio Stadium in 2026 and Scoreboard in South End Zone in 2027

161200_h.jpg

Ohio Stadium will have a new look beginning in the 2026 season.

While the Buckeyes are already set to have premium seating in the south end zone beginning next season, Ohio State will have a new scoreboard in the north end zone as well.

The Board of Trustees, in December, approved a contract to replace the video board in the north end zone, along with several other upgrades and replacements, a project that has a $6.5 million budget and will be completed before the 2026 season kicks off:
  • Replace the east and west ribbon boards
  • Replace B-Deck video boards
  • Replace interior and exterior audio at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center
  • Replace the WHAC video board
The scoreboard in the south end zone, along with ribbon board replacement, Pay Forward Society signage and audio replacements, is set to take place in 2027 but will be requested for approval by the Board of Trustees at a later date. That project will have a budget of $22 million and, if approved, will be completed prior to the 2027 season.

Jordan Seaton (OL Colorado, transfer to LSU)

Pate is right and Seaton pulled a scumbag move, no doubt.

However, goes to show the culture Prime built at Colorado and the selfish attitudes that pervade that program under him.

Property tax increases

Kinda relevant...many of the states (particularly in the west), make their money on severance taxes. In other words, when one mines the elements in the ground, you 'sever' that element, and must pay taxes on it. New Mexico gets hefty severance taxes on uranium, oil, and believe another rare earth mineral. Texas of course pumps oil, and claims taxes per barrel. Pretty certain that this goes into the pot where your home property taxes go, and as long as the minerals hold out, you are not hit as hard. Some of the eastern states don't have any mining interests to speak of, ergo higher taxes to provide police, fire, sanitation, etc. to us all.

Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Question for wrestlers and wrestling dads.
I have a very young little boy that I think would enjoy the sport. He's six and has never really show much enthusiasm towards basketball or soccer but I think he might like wrestling and he certainly has the build for it.

I've started the process of looking into several "youth" teams for him to try out for. Keeping in mind, he has ZERO exposure to the rules, conditioning, fitness...etc
How young is too young for something like this? Are there places to get him introduced to the sport before he looks into one of these teams.

FWIW - my only exposure to something similar is youth swimming where they very much have a "we take kids of all levels" approach.
