He considers the Dallas Cowboys’ status as “America’s team” (“Everyone accepts it, but no one believes it”) and why Nick Nolte was terrific in “North Dallas Forty”: “The main thing he needed to do was act exasperated and hung over, his two greatest strengths as a performer.”Walz only seemed like a football coach to voters with no preexisting relationship to football. His image embodied the liberal conception of nontoxic masculinity, a reverse Margaret Thatcher.
Klosterman drops epigrams, as if they were empty Gatorade bottles, as he jogs along: “Nothing is faker than fake modesty”; “The sports world is about as secular as Iran” ; “You can’t beat a brick wall at tennis”; “Life is unfair, but sometimes it’s unfair in your favor.”What does it mean that there are almost no Black punters? Is that proof of prejudice, or is it a denigration of punting? Does the fact that there are almost no white cornerbacks insinuate that cornerback is the most physically demanding position in the defensive secondary, since white guys often thrive at strong safety and free safety? If so, why is the average salary of a safety higher than the average salary for a corner?
Wait wait wait you mean the same morons that have been fucking with bills the people voted for cause they know better think they know better than kids?

If we can't trust a bunch of Social Security-drawing, Medicare-eligible, aren't-allowed-to-drive-at-night old dudes to dictate what is right for kids trying to better their situations, then who can we trust? (sarcasm font)Banning people from making money is not only contrary to common sense, but also contrary to the primary function of the government, which is stealing the money that people make.
I don't think we care about that anymore, now that we can have unlimited assistants. The only issue is if the kids will care that the OC isn't the one talking to them or not. Who knows. Seems like the strategy is to go get guys who know stuff and ignore if they hate recruiting or not (the good ones usually do).....then let the younger positional coaches who can relate to the kids better do all the recruiting. Is this guy going to be able to recruit or do we care about that anymore?
If you look around CFB, every team went through the same thing. And the current state of CFB doesn't lean towards developing as much as bringing in older players who need less development. OSU lost mainly players who never played, so they just lost unknowns. And that can be taken as a positive or negative. I take it that OSU lost players who OSU coaches didn't deem good enough to play big minutes. Would they have played next year? Maybe. But they brought in players who have played, and again that can also be taken either way. So yeah, it sucked losing Aaron Scott, but getting Dominick Kelly was a bigger deal; losing Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter sucked, but landing 2 players who played extensively with Parker and McCuin is an even bigger deal. There will need to be less attention made on HS star rankings after year 2 for players if they haven't played. When I name those 3 OSU players who transferred, what did OSU lose? When a team loses 31 xfers, some fat/excess goes, certainly. But when one debones a chicken or beefsteak, some muscle gets cut away as well as fat. Heck, tOSU made ND's portal season all by ourselves...IMHO. Appears to me that tOSU's sophomore and junior cadre has been gutted by transfers, making the team more dependent upon the portal. And am not convinced that the coaching staff can make as great an impact on the 3-4-5 year players coming in, as they would on the 1-2-3 year recruits. While I'm not as critical of Pantoni as some of the above, kinda hard to look at someone's tape (which is made up of their GOOD plays, not their average plays) to get a feel for a kid. And is folly to read the news clippings of a guy, and make an educated decision as to make them an instant millionaire. With the huge money being thrown around for HCs, the pressure is being put upon them for instant success. And Cignetti is the poster boy certainly. Wouldn't be surprised if each and every new HC hire is being compared to him, with no earthly idea whether this new guy can 'redo' as well as Cignetti has done. And the leash on said HC will be shorter.
Could definitely see it happeningyou mean the future Seattle Supersonics?
