Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

This is definitely a step down from Mendoza but Hoover will be good enough to keep them going next year. His big knock is that he's INT prone takes too many chances with risky throws. Very productive the last 2 years though.
Yeah but Marsh is a better WR than what Mendoza has had. So that will help, and I'm sure they will pick up another solid WR too

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I don't know enough about scheme to know whether Day's offense is outdated, but the experience of Howard, burst of Judkins and Henderson, and a stable right side of the OL was the difference between last year and this one.

More than changing scheme, they need
1. Sayin to deal with pressure and see the middle of the field
2. Moore to start and either get another OT or move Siereveld to RT
3. Get Bo and West accustomed to pass pro while getting stronger
4. Get an RB with burst to push Bo and West

They could use a WR2 along with a few other things, but the above would go a long way to make the offense more consistent and difficult to defend.

I'd be throwing all I can at the UCLA kicker

That’s the only one that jumped out at me as chasing The Tennessee kicker may have a bigger leg than Fielding, but was not reliable at all. He was 4-6 from 30-39 and the same from 40-49. Being able to hit a 50+ fg is nice, but I’d rather have more reliable with less range every single time.

LSU Tigers (official thread)

Update: LSU starting OL returning after brief portal entry

For about 50 minutes it looked like LSU and new coach Lane Kiffin were preparing for a compete overhaul of the offensive line, but instead were able to re-sign redshirt freshman tackle Weston Davis to a new deal after he initially appeared in the transfer portal on Sunday morning, CBS Sports' Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz have learned.

The former four-star recruit from the 2024 class started 10 games this season.

Davis is one of six LSU offensive lineman that started in at least six games this season:
  • Josh Thompson (out of eligibility)
  • Braelin Moore (trending toward return)
  • Weston Davis (returning)
  • Tyree Adams (portal)
  • Coen Echols (portal)
  • Paul Mubenga (portal)

Just sayin': It took about 50 minutes in the portal for the LSU bagman to show up at Weston Davis' residence......

2026 tOSU Special Teams Discussion

Would it, though? In 2025, he was:

6-7 from 20-29 (Fielding was 6-7, too)
7-8 from 30-39 (Fielding was 7-8, too)
7-8 from 40-49 (Fielding was 3-4 in 2025, but was 7-8 in 2024)
0-0 from 50+ (Fielding was 0-1)

He has a career-long of 50 made in 2024. Fielding has a career-long of 49 made in 2025z

He’s never missed a “very important kick” like Fielding has, but he’s also never had the opportunity to choke in a huge situation.

On paper, he’s basically the exact same player.

Yeah, those stats are underwhelming relative to the accolades
