NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

For those of you who didn't have the pleasure of playing Seattle this year (haha) - I assure you they do this to most teams.
Only the Rams and Stafford have the ability to solve their puzzle.
The Raiders didn't play Seattle in the regular season this year, but they did defeat the Patriots. I would say statistically that means the Raiders would beat the Seahawks and should be considered co-SB champs.

2026 Winter Olympics (Milan - Cortina, Feb 6-20)

We've been Olympic junkies for years now. But you're correct, seem to lose interest unless there's an American competing. Ice skating certainly. Even though ill-advised, applaud Vonn for giving it the old college try. One trains for years to get to that level, and when the time gets here, a competitor will do any and everything to get to the medal ceremony. Wife was quite a good GS skier. So we watch that, whomever goes downhill. Personally, I prefer biathalon, as was actually a useful event (Finns, Swedes, and Swiss had their armies ski and then shoot for real). But my favorite event is the zamboni. We don't get enough camera time, when that machine sweeps the ice to make it easier for the skaters to compete. Watching those downhillers speed down that mountain, reminds me of the 85 year old guy driving on a busy street. Just keep driving until you hit something. Going 80 mph down a mountain without a bunch of steel wrapped around you? Please. PS, hope Vonn was OK. Had seen rescue sleds certainly, but a helicopter was insane.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

I just don’t think there’s a good enough OT at the Browns pick. If they want an OT in the 1st Rd they should really try and slide back (which would be smart anyways to accumulate more assets).

I hate the way this front office operates though….the thought process should be to punt on the next 2-3 years and build for 2028-ish.

They’re always trying to “win now” though and it’s just not realistic with the “cap hell” they’re in.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Browns are officially on the clock. Make your picks now. It should be an OT, but the brain trust will probably grab a DE.

I think the first pick should be WR, but I wouldn't hate Downs if they wanted to make a good defense even better. They do need to fix the OL, but if Flacco proved anything in Cincy elite WR's are more important than a good OL.

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Next year tOSU will be without Thornton, Tilly and Noel. Still a nice nucleus, but the xfer from Indiana hasn't impressed me. You don't get to be Mr. Ohio without scoring a ton of points, and to date, he hasn't done that. Sure, he can dribble around, but not the same as Thornton's 20+ points per game. Current big backup simply doesn't appear to have the chops that are needed. And who knows who's going to stick around? Mobley is better at the two than the one. He's more of a set-up shooter than a stop-and-pop player, like Thornton and Devin. So, go out and buy a one-hit wonder at center? So far, Diebs is batting one for two.

Not an exact comparison obviously, but that game did give me a little bit of a flashback to the Miami game. NE had to know coming into the game it was going to be a challenge to block Seattle, like we did against Miami, and it seemed like they had no creative plan to beat it, no adjustments. It was just, well if the protection breaks down on this play, the play isn't going to work, oh well. Not a lot of moving the pocket, not a lot of creative quick, short stuff to offset the rush, etc
