"We Choose to Go To The Moon!"

Well, if Zurp is correct, then that explains all the scifi novels where the earth is protected by a really old space fleet. Being housed in the hollow moon and all, when the older species come a'calling, we just launch and destroy those guys. Easy peasy. Actually, believe it's good that we spend some money on space exploration, and not throwing missles at each other.....
If you believe Neil deGrasse Tyson, what we've spent, historically, on space exploration, is a drop in the bucket compared to our federal budget. Something like... if you take a dollar bill and cut it at the percentage of our budget for space exploration, you aren't even cutting into the ink on the paper - you're just shaving a tiny strip off the edge. By the way, I never fact-checked him, so believe it if you want to. Or don't.
Either way, I agree with you - more money should go to things like this, rather than a bunch of the other things we're doing.

J.J. McCarthy (once a tCun, always a tCun; Nine on the Pine)

Hopefully, he Pippins it all and has to go crawling to tsun for a greeter job like Vince Young had to.
By "Pippins it all" I'm sure you mean pissing away his earnings... not poking Larsa 4x a day. He's not good enough of a person to poke her 1x a day, let alone 4x.

Columbus Symphony Orchestra wants to build $275 million performance space

Maybe it's a 'shoot for the stars', but settle for the 'sun and the moon' type of thing. Seems pretty excessive for 1,600. While living in SF, sat through the new symphony building, and took a couple of years to 'tune' it for good sound dispersion (or somesuch). Have toured Sydney building, and they have two different 'floors', one for instruments, and one for plays etc. It is truly magnificent, but I ask the engineers in the group. Thought that some of the wealthier donors might commit to defray the costs, Heck, if each of the 1,600 donors kick in $172,000 each could be built! That's before grants, or money already in the pot.

Thee Ohio State University News

Nope. As a gonna-be Columbusite, am looking to replenish my/our stable of medicos. And am starting to see what's out there. Quality docs are most important, and it's hard to tell who's a good doc versus not. And, cannot assume that tOSU docs are the 'best'. With that article, am concerned. Guess a visit or two will tell the tale.

2028 OH DL Asa Burch (Verbal Offer)

Michigan has a solid presence here in Warren, but Harding has sent way more players to Ohio State. This century, the only two athletes from here that chose Michigan over Ohio State are Prescott Burgess & Mario Manningham. Go back a few more years and you can add Carl Diggs in 1999, who was the first & only player from Harding that the Wolverines got in the 90’s. Since 2003, we’ve even had three players walk on at Ohio State (Dimitrios & George Makridis and Patrick Wise).

Deaver Williamson Jr. and the late Davion Rodgers are both ‘10 Harding alum that played for Michigan, but neither were ever offered by Ohio State.

Admittedly, it will be tough for anyone to beat out Michigan for Asa, but the notion that most Harding athletes chose Michigan over Ohio State is false. In fact, Alfie (since you brought his name up) is very close with his cousin Dan “Boom” Herron, who ultimately chose Ohio State over Michigan.
My mistake by making it too general. By pipeline, I meant there seems to be some in roads from Harding to TTUN. The Harding grads to OSU are legendary.

I do expect for him to go to Scum.

Chaz Coleman (DE Penn St., transfer to Tennessee, dismissed from Tennessee, transfer to...)

I assume it’s $3.5M for 3 years. Still a lot for a guy who showed promise as a freshman but not production. Bugs me that people use $ amounts without timing.
I'm with you, and I find myself correcting people about it ALL THE TIME, IRL. So many fans believe the number that is reported is only for 1yr. Those numbers are almost always for 3, 4 or 5yrs.
