Texas Tech Red Raiders (sponsored by BET365)

I feel like CFB is better served by anything that speeds up the inevitable "next" phase, to mean post NCAA so in a longer game kind of way I kind of wish TT would have gone all the way.

I have zero worries that this guy would be throwing games or shaving points with the microscope he'd be under.
CFB or in the NFL for that matter.

I have mixed emotions about that 'next phase' thing. I mean, it's eventually going to happen... but I guess I'm in favor of it being a little more graceful than a trainwreck... but yeah, call a spade a spade, right? It's nearing horse abortion levels as it is right now.

“Hot” Takes?

I think a lot of people are "look at me" people. They want people to talk about them. "Did you see that guy's car? Whoa!" or "Check out that guy's goofy hair style." In this case, "Your son's name is Brandon? Oh, sorry - Brandyn? Gotcha." See? I had to give extra attention to that name.
I see some names in my kids' school year books. The one year there were multiple girls named "Queen" and multiple boys named "King".
Very much a "look at me" thing.
My nephew has a teammate named “Zeppelin” on his baseball team.

Not sure why any institution would.
Athletic Director Cunningham: "Yes, sir. And... we'll interface with the NCAA on this, uh, gambling issue."

President Pinto: "No! No. God, no. We don't want those idiots bumbling around in this. Tell Sorsby to hit the transfer portal. Get rid of him."

Re: the commissioner protecting the shield, I’d be astounded if Sorsby isn’t blackballed from the NFL, although likely silently behind the scenes to avoid a lawsuit. The NFL is probably the third most venal major entity in sports (behind FIFA and the IOC), but I don’t think they’ll take any risk on this guy.
He's not a good enough player to take a risk on.

“Hot” Takes?

That pretty much explains goofy beard trends, foodies, craft beer drinkers, hipsters, helicopter parents and all the flavors of "look how outraged I am/look how I said all the right things to someone who made the mistake of uttering unpopular speech".

My hot take; Social media is a bigger crime against humanity than cigarettes were.

They knew it was harmful. They knew it was addictive. They aimed it at kids.
My hot take is it's a tool of the CIA'a MKUltra program

Said it before and will say it again…..social media is a social disease

Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion, HC at USF)

BRIAN HARTLINE’S TOP FIVE. Last week, Brian Hartline appeared on Steve Smith’s 89 podcast, where he joined Smith and James Palmer to discuss his journey to becoming USF’s head coach, wide receiver non-negotiables, transparency in the NIL era, and his evaluation of Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Perhaps most interesting for Eleven Warriors readers was Smith’s list of the top 10 wide receivers Hartline coached at Ohio State, which we’ll examine below (Smith only ranked former Buckeyes, so Jeremiah Smith is not included):

  1. Marvin Harrison Jr.
  2. Garrett Wilson
  3. Chris Olave
  4. Jaxon Smith-Njigba
  5. Emeka Egbuka
  6. Devin Smith
  7. Michael Thomas
  8. Parris Campbell
  9. K.J. Hill
  10. Terry McLaurin
Hartline told Steve Smith he didn’t coach Devin Smith or Michael Thomas, so Smith allowed him to swap those Buckeyes out of his list. Hartline then added Austin Mack and Jameson Williams instead, without revealing where they should land in Smith’s revised top 10.

2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

I would say it is the deepest team they've had in a long time. The 2012 team that made the Final Four was tough, I'm skeptical that these guys will be on that level. The only question-marks are physicality and efficiency. The past great teams they had, there was always at least one guy who performed at a professional level & while they have elite talent, they need these 5-stars to come in and live up to the hype.

We are pretty set at the guards. The thing that's going to determine how good they can be is the bigs staying healthy and performing at a good enough level.

Bynum taking a decently big step forward would be massive.

Josh O has to stay healthy and perform good enough.
