G Myles Herro (Official Thread)

Some are saying he is basically a walk-on, but on scholarship because walk-ons have to be on scholarship now since the roster limit is up to 15 players and all are on scholarship.

Looks like his only other D1 offers were Cal Poly and Western Illinois, so yea not someone who woulda gotten a scholarship in the old roster limit era.

Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

That’s incredible. Look how he finished the matches! Of his 13 wins, nine ended in the first period two of which were by pin and the other seven by tech fall. His other four wins were also by tech fall, it just took a bit longer for him to do it. That is really impressive regardless of who you are wrestling.

'25 OH SG Dorian Jones (Ohio St. decommitt)

Cannot fault this young man. Undersized at 165 pounds, could probably use a year or so putting on some muscle. Improving his skill level might be a plus as well, although he's probably been hooping since he was six. Diebs will have to reopen his recruitment, starting from just a little above scratch, as don't quite believe his commitment carries over for a year (officially, if not mentally). Always want to see Ohio's best become Buckeyes, but our best have been usually poached by outside schools, except for those that aren't.....Go Bucks! PS, does tOSU have a 'place' to stash these guys going the prep school route? Cannot remember if Ohio has such a place inside the state...

2026 GA DE Xavier Griffin (Alabama Commit, USC Decommit)

Sounds like a typical 'hit-it-outa-the-park' official by tOSU. Great news. Do wonder at two of his 'copies' on his posting above. Red elephant and bamamade sound suspiciously like folk from Alabama. Hopefully the good guys win this one. Am guessing that Patricia goes more with three backers more often than not. But who knows.
From what I've gauged from Patricia, his defense will depend on the offense. So 3 LBs would be more utilized against Illinois, Wisky and scUM, and 2 LBs vs Washington, UCLA and Tejas for example

You ask, we answer. Sometimes we ask, others answer. And then other times, we ask, we answer.

Throughout the year, we will be asking and answering questions about various
Ohio State teams, the players, and anything else on our collective minds of varying degrees of importance. If you have a question that you would like to ask, you can tweet us @LandGrant33 or if you need more than 280 characters, send an email HERE.

This week at LGHL is “Players to Watch Week”, so for our weekly fan survey, we are asking you which players you are most excited to watch this coming season. We have broken it down into two categories, returning starts and guys who didn’t start (at least not for OSU) last year.

Take a look at the options that we included and vote on where your heart is, but if there is someone you are uber-excited to watch that we didn’t include, head to the comments at the bottom of the page and let us know.

We will share the results, with some fly-looking graphics, later this week, so make sure you come back and check those out.

Question 1: Which Ohio State returning starter are you most excited to watch this season?

Despite the fact that it felt like everybody on the roster left for the NFL following the national championship season, there are still some very exciting players returning to the starting lineup, but the question is how do you define excitement in those circumstances?

Are you excited to see the returning excellence of Caleb Downs and Jeremiah Smith? Or are you excited to see what guys like Carson Hinzman, Tegra Tshabola, and Brandon Inniss can do with a bit more experience and opportunity.

I know that technically Inniss isn’t a returning starter, but given how much he played on special teams and how long he has been with the program, he felt like a better fit than in the next group.

Question 2: Which Ohio State non-returning starter are you most excited to watch this season (other than Julian Sayin)?

Because of the aforementioned mass exodus to the NFL, there are many more guys to consider for this question. Of course, the obvious answer to this question would be the quarterback, so for fairness’ sake, I removed Julian Sayin from the conversation, but anyone else is open.

And, again, if there is something that you are looking forward to seeing that I didn’t include, please feel free to throw in his name in the comments.
