I think @Elephant believes a southern kid stays in the south. All those points you made are true, but Columbus, OH is still north of the MD line, and that can trump any of the points that you made

I'll never get this rooting interest in a conference. I root and care about 1 team. I think the B1G and SEC convo is entertaining and at times comical, but I could care less if every team in the B1G loses all of their games. I only care that OSU wins. I'm not going to give any interest to Minny playing Ole Miss, or the results of Illinois against UK. And I'd honestly give a side eye to a Purdue, IU, UCLA, etc fan who wants to give a high 5 when OSU wins a big game. It's not a coincidence at all and the ESPN/SEC clowns know it, we are going to get a real annoying even harder push than before for the next few years about how "GRUELING!!!!" the SEC schedule is, regardless to how they perform in the post season, and regardless to how its no more grueling than the B1G when looked at from non biased glasses. They gotta talk more SEC teams into the playoff based on past "toughness" perception because clearly they aren't going to actually deserve it based on current year merit
