Day went out and got the TE from Purdue just for Texas and anyone else that wants to try the defense that sold out to contain Smith last year.

These teams seem to have similar levels of talent. They played a close game in January and both lost a lot. Not much to go on.

My primary concern for this game is that Texas is not a slow-starting team with Sark. They appear to come out of training camp ready for the season. The Buckeyes have been a slow-starting team under Day. One might call last year an exception, but last year had a schedule tailor-made for a slow-starting team.

My primary source of optimism in this game is that Day appeared to grow as a coach last year. He made some mistakes, adjusted, and won a national championship.

My secondary source of optimism is Jeremiah Smith. Throw him the damn ball and they'll be fine.

Thanks man, its a great feeling - son is 15 - gets his permit in about 2 months, so in 6-8 months i'll be shopping again - hes getting a truck (mostly so i can also use it :slappy: )

Yes we traded it in at the dealer - did OK on the trade IMO - got 6k (KBB was 5900-6600)

My dad had one for a number of years as his daily driver when he was driving 80 miles each way daily - racked up a ton of highway miles, and never really had any issues

I don't know much about what UT lost other than Ewers, but I do know the sports media cannot wait to crown Manning, so that loss (Ewers) isn't seen as a loss of personnel. I think that's a mistake, as I am decidedly NOT sold on Manning. Hey, he could end up being a great QB, but right now, he's a name on the back of his shirt.
