2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

It’ll be a good game imo. Curious what the board’s thoughts are on “who do we want to win.” I’m slightly torn to be honest. Part of me wants to see Alabama go down in flames, yet there is another part of me that wants to see Cignetti get humbled. I’d prefer the rematch, but it’s an interesting dichotomy.

Bama would be far easier, but I’d prefer to beat Indiana.

In order of threat, I’d say it’s Georgia, Indiana, TTech. Georgia has the highest talent and Kirby will kidnap a ref’s kid to get a call, Tech’s front 7 causes the most chaos, and IU has the experience and runs the best defensive system.

As always, it's about efficiency.

Oklahoma was a bad offense all year and they pissed down their legs tonight.

But there's also defensive efficiency too...

So while Oklahoma's defense was marginally better than Indiana's, Indiana's offense is LIGHT YEARS better than Oklahoma's. And given what Indiana did to Oregon, who has a very good defense in its own right - unless Indiana pisses down it's own leg (possible), it's a pretty big hill to climb for Bama.

Don't know, IU will probably look different without #8 (forget his name), who injured himself out of the playoffs while high-fiving fans after the CCG. He might have been their best defensive player.
they'll miss him, but I don't think they'll miss him against Bama.

Oregon, Texas Tech (I think) and Ohio State are different animals entirely.

IU has zero flight time at this altitude.

They are ripe for a complete bed shatting.

Whatever gives us Cignetti running hurry up and going for 2 down 28 with 3 minutes left in the 4th is cool with me.

Bama is too one dimensional to pull it off, but their meltdowns last year and mediocre games against good defensive talent this season would keep me from betting on them.

Agree with a lot of the sentiments, especially the rare air IU finds itself in. IU’s D is more than solid and their O is pretty good. I think they put up a bunch of points. They might give up some points too, but Alabama’s run game is putrid and their D was suspect until Oklahoma decided to fling their poop all over the place.

IU defense needs to bring pressure whether that’s the d line or bring some LB’s but if they can they can disrupt Bama offense. Offensively some quick hitting plays and control the tempo of the game. I didn’t see much from Bama d line until 2nd half of the game. If Mendoza can take off a couple or few runs to gain yards I think they’ll be fine.

Bama wasn’t the hard-to-kill team, they just didn’t completely mess themselves throughout the final 3 quarters.

Bama might get a few big plays on Indiana, but I can’t imagine their duct tape OL giving Ty nearly enough time to do much outside of that.
I wouldn’t be upset watching Indiana completely obliterate them. I don’t see that happening, but I’d enjoy it.

I’m with @Mike80 on the next game. Indiana by 2 plus tuddies against Bama. Their D sucks shaft and aside from Proctor, their O Line blows too. Their run game will be nonexistent.
