2026 CA DL Khary Wilder is a Buckeye!!!

Per Rivals:
Wilder not only was super impressive in Los Angeles during one-on-one reps using speed and power to his advantage but his measurables were incredible with an 81-inch wingspan. You’ll certainly hear about his measurables again once it’s his time for the NFL Draft. The Gardena (Calif.) Serra product got a major rankings bump after his performance where he displayed speed, power and toughness along with great measurables. And at 6-foot-4 and 256 pounds, Wilder also has a frame where he could easily add 20 more pounds and keep his dominant speed.

Ohio State nabbed one of the country’s best with him.

Per 11w poster:
I was listening to a podcast where Birm was on and he basically said the staff had no idea just how athletic he was. Patricia and LJ went to watch one of his practices and he was lined up at TE catching routes down the seem one-handed. From that moment they realized just how elite of an athlete he is, and identified him as a must-get. He is a huge huge win for us

2028 FL RB Elijah Hall is a Buckeye!!!

But do we really want to take a commitment from a guy with ‘no stars’?

Yes, I know it’s because he just finished his freshman year.

Kid is built like a college frosh already! And is the size to already start at DE AND still play RB. Thats freak status

2027 CA QB Brady Edmunds is a Buckeye!!!

Well, this NIL thing is CERTAINLY not off the rails.
Yeah there's multiple states that are allowing HS NIL:

But tbh I dont see it any different than any other teenager having a job. They are very good at a particular skill, so they get paid more, thats no different than any other aspect of life to me. Brady is an exceptional athlete who garners a lot of attention so he would make more money than the kid who just goes to HS and in turn that kid works at Walmart, but I'm sure there's a kid who does very well in STEM, so they can earn money through a company specializing in their particular field. My daughter was in competitive dance and gymnastics and taught kids that as her job

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

If this thread gets locked then The Fringe is going to break contain and spill out into every other thread on the board.

No matter how strongly worded the posts might be to try and stop them, things could escalate. Death threats could even be issued.

For the love of humanity (and manatees) govern yourselves accordingly.

My advice is just let The Fringe be, at least we know where they are.

Grill Advice

What non-electric smoker do you have? I have an electric Masterbuilt that does a pretty good job.
I use a kitchen aid charcoal grill which does the trick. Im in the market for an offset, though. Tough to keep the heat when you gotta let it almlst all out to check the meat, spritz with whatever, and the like. My electric is a masterbuilt. I love it for the fact that I can smoke something in January, though again the smoke isn't near as good. But, I also love being able to throw a few hours of smoke on something and then put it in the electric to finish. Better temp control, obviously. Otoh, my brother in law has a nice pellete smoker that keeps the temp and all that so....

some of The Fringe have been laying low.... hibernating until the season starts.... no-one wants to wake up The Fringe midway through the offseason.

Should semipro/college players be paid, or allowed to sell their stuff? (NIL and Revenue Sharing)

It’s not hard at all to buy followers from what little I know.

Heck, a quick Google search and I could add 100,000 “followers” to my social media page for around $500. I do that 50 times and now I’m Livvy Dunne (sorry fellas, no leotards here).

I’m sure top brands are running metrics analysis and bot-checkers to verify before they hand over sponsored dollars. I have my doubts anyone at the NCAA is prepared for these things.

And I highly doubt they are ready to take on the craziest bunch of people in the world - college football fans/boosters - who will do anything to test the limit and push boundaries.
I think if we get Lily Phillips involved we can get a lot more followers than that.

Grill Advice

As a proud owner myself, can confirm you will enjoy. Especially if you're a breakfast guy. In the Fall when the weather cools you just drag the TV outside along with it and enjoy some Gameday and coffee while you cook.

I have a smoker, and electric smoker, a gas grill and a 36" Blackstone. Different cooks call for different tools. (The electric smoker is basically an outdoor oven now. Electric smoke sucks, compared to combustion smoke.)

Agree 100% Breakfast on the Blackstone is awesome... and... any time I need to season the thing, a pound of bacon does the trick and well... I get the bacon! ALSO - the Blackstone breaks down easy and can travel. Took it on vacation a couple years back... Cooking for 14 was a hell of a lot easier with all that surface area.
Cooking breakfast is high on my interest scale. Definitely seems more flexible than my grill.
