See ORD for the actual answer, but I don't think Wexner's money went to football. And right now, I think his money is going to keep his name on buildings and out of the news. The good news (for UT), is that oil money flows in day after day. The bad news is that the Texas oilmen tend to use that oil money as a club. You can lay book that more than several coaches (at UT) have been shown the door because the alums/benefactors have soured on a coach (mostly for the above- non Nati's). Probably fake news, but read that an alum called the coach, and told him there's a DB he wanted a schollie offered to. Kinda like the golden rule - He who has the gold, makes the rules. And the institution is so dependent on those petro-dollars, they make 'allowances' for their donors. Might point out tOSU's 'own' oilman - Les Wexner. What I imagine to be the same sorta thing.....
A situation I don't see changing as long as the Mannings remain in charge.I wonder how much of that money keeps flowing if titles aren't won in Austin in the next few years
I've never been to Katz's. I'll have to try the next time I visit my daughter. Now I have some wonderful memories of the Carnegie Deli.I preferred Carnegie deli, can't believe they're gone.
I preferred Carnegie deli, can't believe they're gone.Their pastrami is one of man’s rare perfect creations, but why they use mushy, thin rye bread as an inadequate platform for it is beyond me. I love a good Reuben, but at Katz’s I just go with plain pastrami and a Dr. Brown’s cream soda. If I really want to be hardcore, I pregame with a potato or kasha knish from Yonas Schimmel, which is right up the street from it.
