Zach Smith (Official Thread)

Long story short, in 2015 she told a police officer that an OSU lawyer came out and put pressure on her to keep quiet to not embarrass osu.

Fast forward to 2018 and she told mcmurMcMthat nobody from OSU reached out, she was interviewed by the investigation team and either forgot to tell them, or they didn't include it in their report.

My conclusion: this either takes Urban down or crushes Courtney Smith's character.

Edit: it also makes you believe that the officer took that information and thought it was smart to put it in the report, but not important enough to follow up with.

Well, at a minimum, it's an interesting part of the story. Perhaps the bottom line was alluded to by Koffel, who has an incredibly biased POV for sure... but you know, just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean I'm wrong.

This shit just needs to fall off the media radar ASAP as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, pretty sure that claim would (rightfully) be sounding the casino jackpot if that were true and verified. Seems like the $500K investigation team would have found that if she kept that story as she told it in 2015.

Also, any lawyer risking that?
Given that she claimed Meyer’s life coach (or whatever) talked to her in 2009 and convinced her to drop charges, and she never mentioned anything about the same happening in 2015, and the fact that no charges were filed in the first place in 2015, I am close to certain is was a case of Courtney Smith pinning what happened at Florida on Ohio State for some reason when she spoke with the police in 2015... which could have been a part of establishing her credibility on accurately reporting things.

Nothing new at all other than the accusation that “Ohio State” sent a lawyer to convince Courtney Smith to drop charges... that weren’t filed by police in the first place.

That seems like a laughably unsubstantiated claim that she certainly would have mentioned again in the more recent interviews... it seems likely she was confusing the Florida incident with anything Ohio State did in the police report.
So she didnt tell the investigation team this?? Seems like a big fucking detail to leave out.

My take: she was giving testimony during a police report under an obviously distressed situation and saying anything to get after Zach (justified or not, I do not know).

No. way. this makes it past an independent team and not out into the news if her police report were still true after the heat of moment.

I do genuinely wonder why Powell did not do more here. Her credibility or not, Zach at minimum exhibits some dangerous habits and everyone is lucky it did not lead to worse damage. Also would have put a stop to this years ago (at least Urban's involvement)- even if it's just filing charges.

Especially given this part:

Chief Vest has said that the full investigation contains information that would explain or dispute allegations by Courtney Smith. The city has refused, however, to release the full investigation.
