Zach Smith (Official Thread)

Boom. Fuck off, media

"Boruchowitz wrote that Courtney Smith told him Ohio State sent a lawyer to her Powell home in connection with a previous incident, "convincing her to drop the charge because it would embarrass OSU if she proceeded with the prosecution"

They lived in powell, OH and zach coached at OSU in '09? That's what they're going wiyh? The officer had a bad case of wax in ears?

Btw, what is this “police narrative”? Hard to read the article, but didn’t the Dispatch just take the police report? Police narrative are her words in 2015.
Well, someone has a similar thought.

This is odd. Why the anonymous release? If not Courtney, who? And why?

I’m just so baffled by all of it. All for Zach fucking Smith.
One theory...

To go back to the tweet about Courtney Smith being scrubbed from the report in my previous post, it is the worst kept secret in the world that she was scrubbed because Ohio State and basically anyone else not named Snook or related to the Smith’s don’t want to come within 1000 feet of being viewed as attacking Courtney Smith.

Perhaps they are hoping that happens in court and their hands will be kept clean? Who knows.

Correct. Nobody is going to come within ten feet of saying Courtney lied or exaggerated, despite the fact the report and subsequent text transcripts clearly indicate Urban, Shelley, Gene, and everyone else was suspicious of this and deferred to Powell police to confirm it for an actionable response.

I don’t see how leaking this report accomplished anything. But I didn’t see how Zach Smith losing his shit on Twitter accomplished anything either. So up is down and down is up. And I better fucking be invited to the 2nd Zach/Courtney wedding because it’s gonna be lit.

My money is on a meth cake with a BDSM themed bride and groom engaged in simultaneous auto-erotic asphyxiation (which would go a long way to explaining all of the choking stories).

Right? Even at $1600 / hour and $500K for the job, you have to think about how those passages must read. I’m sure it’s professional, but may be very damning to her character.

I’m almost certain that there are statements in there that detail the committee’s view on the veracity of CS’s story. Putting one and one together, if they believed her or any of the story, it would paint Urban as an enabler who overlooked the situation — essentially grounds for dismissal with cause. If they didn’t buy her story and outlined the justification for not believing her, the committee comes off as a sham who were paid to whitewash the situation. The fact that they didn’t publish any of this suggests that they didn’t believe her either, and rather than making it public — and frankly, making her look worse — they could avoid the situation by not releasing anything related to her story. And I think it’s justifiable under the heading of: this happened outside the University domain and as such, that information is not being made pubic. All information regarding happenings within the University domain have been shared.

There’s just no way they can come out and call her a liar. It’d be a worse PR disaster than all the other PR disasters combined. But I think by not calling her credible, they’ve pretty much done all they can do to suggest they don’t believe her.

And, quite frankly, I don’t believe her. Not all of it, at least. I believe Zach was probably a shitty husband who was emotionally abusive - the kind who would try to make his wife feel crazy for accusing him of cheating on her. It’s typical gaslighting by an unfaithful husband. I believe she probably did, at some points or another, physically go after him and he probably did hurt her fending off those attacks. With things like this, there’s always a little kernel of truth on each side, a lot of embellishment, and some outright fabrications. I don’t blame Urban for not getting to the truth of it all because that would have been an impossible task.
