I am ok if he has to scramble and does well, but no, no designed runs unless its a sneakDevin Brown may be more apt to run but when he does he ain't fast.

Pretty spot on analysis.Top 5 positives and negatives
Positives
1. Kyle McCord looked good I thought. Threw some tough throws and he’s the one that makes the offense move. The coaches need to give him all the first team reps next week and go.
2. Defense adjusted well by adding a corner instead of a 3rd safety. Martinez is just a liability vs most WRs and that’s no knock on him. IMO he should be on offense where he’s electric. He’d be dynamic on jet sweeps etc
3. Burke is legit shut down. Challenged multiple times and he was in zero danger of giving up any of them.
4. Styles is largely avoided but when teams do challenge him it’s general a mistake for the offense.
5. I thought Henderson actually played well today and the OL was outstanding with pass pro.
Negatives
1. The overall plan on offense. There’s no urgency, there’s no rhythm, and a pretty noticeable lack of physicality.
I get wanting to work on things which is what lead to 40+ passes but how does this help us prepare for ND? It doesn’t. So it did nothing to establish our brand of football which I’m sure for ND will be balance and setting up play action.
We complain about not having enough possessions and seem to have no intent to press things offensively.
2. Penalties were back breaking today. We had multiple touchdowns called back on penalties and had two drives killed by them too.
3. In what should’ve been our easiest game we were playing Marv and Egbuka during the last minute of the game. What a waste to play our depth.
4. Give Kyle the job and move on. This dual QB stuff is absolutely murdering our productivity and sort of feeds my main issue with our O having no rhythm.
5. I’m ready to state that JT and Jack are fairly average. They’re good players but they are not elite play makers. Where is the pass rush? Our two sacks were Tommy and again a DT. The DEs really have been nonexistent since Chase left.
I noticed that as well and called both things out during the game. 3rd down stats were fugly. That first YSU drive ate over half the 3rd quarter.Another negative that’s not talked about enough.
We aren’t getting off the field on defense and we aren’t converting 3rd downs on offense. Two weeks in a row and should be watched pretty closely.
Part of me just says you have to come out the gate like its the Kentucky Derby and then spend the rest of the game ruling the clock..The more i think about it, and it may just be the Guinness... with these new clock rules, could a 2 qb offense work?
Start off with your Peyton Manning throwing to your elite 1st round WRs. Once you have a 2 score lead, sub in the Closer squad: Lamar Jackson in offbalance sets with Stanley Jackson style WRs and a bruiser like Hyde. You can still bomb it, but more importantly run all day with a vicious blocking and physical brawlers.
I wonder if the quick throws from QBs is negating those 2. Not too many 5 or 7 step drops. And also using the shotgun zone read can negate them as well. Not too many pure drop back statue passers around anymore. I’ve always thought that JT would be a real good DT and Sawyer would be a good run stopping DE. They will have much better NFL careers, imo as NFL DCs Will scheme much better for their strengths. I wish LJsr was more creative at times with these 2Yeah, I expected a lot more out of JTT and Sawyer.
Lack of fire, lack of aggressiveness, looking ho-hum, and where's the camaraderie? Something seems amiss with this team...What I think I see
I realize the 1st 3 games are practice but there's little excitement/fire out there... looking for animals.. I see Eich, Chip and Styles with an edge...
Harrison looks bored
Burke is back to freshman Burke+... not a 'fire' but wreaks with confidence... an NFL confidence... he's leaving
It's obvious McCord is the QB... but zero run skills... not even Brown has run skills; heck I want to see what Lincoln can bring to the party
Still scratching my head that we were sold this was close
Yes, our OL has size but I don't see power... I don't see raw strength.. and still dramatically lacking on line coordination... 5 separate linemen
Our RB stable is solid
Our defense is solid.. guess we'll see if it's elite in a couple weeks... my suspicion is yes...
My expectation of the DL far exceeds what I've seen... drips and drabs of what I expect on a consistent basis.. when it steps up, D goes to elite
You mean... more NFL-like?Lack of fire, lack of aggressiveness, looking ho-hum, and where's the camaraderie? Something seems amiss with this team...
