That says a lot to me, former players and alumni stepping up to bat for this. I'm not really familiar with any of the names save for Jankowski, which rings a bell in my head for some reason, but it seems that this is kind of...odd and unprecedented (can't think of a better word). Anyone know a bit more about the players, if they were held in high regard, or relative "issues?"

Hicks won the Outland, Lombardi and was the Runner up in the Hiesman voting as an Offensive lineman.

IOW, not a slouch.

I can remember all of them except Holloway and the other 8 were very good players.

Jan White's son (i.e. Stan White jr) played at Ohio State too. He kind of "got lost" in a great class of linebackers that Ohio State had and ended up playing fullback.

Actually Stan White, Sr. was a LB at tOSU. That would be Stan White, Jr.'s dad.

I know Sr. was a linebacker. I was referring to Jr. (above), he initially came in as a linebacker and eventually moved to fullback.

:smash:

Jan White (who is not white) = TE
Stan White Sr. = LB
Stan White Jr = FB

Ah, all those White people look alike to me anyways... And which one is related to Walter again?

You're thinking of Clifford Heffelfinger.

If he had signed this letter... well... he wouldn't have stopped there.

"$700 extra dollars"

they needed to let someone proofread that letter before they sent/published it...

"This seems to be by any standard of equity and fairness an incredibly steep price to pay for selling memorabilia and, if the position of the NCAA is to be accepted, receiving $700 extra dollars in pay from an employer."

You took that little piece of the quote way out of context.
