Perhaps we'll dismiss Eugene on Monday as a 'second shoe drop' which will make all of this go away.

I can dream, right?

Indeed. It's been way to quiet out here!

Yes, the response is plain sad, check this out:

"The responsibility is upon Tressel. No other institutional personnel were aware" of the violations, and the former coach failed in his obligation to report them, the response says. "The institution is embarrassed by the actions of Tressel."

The university argues that Tressel's "integrity and proven history of promoting rules compliance," combined with his team's improving academic performance and other factors, should mitigate the severity of any NCAA sanctions. It also notes that he and his wife have donated $3 million since 2001, primarily to Ohio State.

So we are embarrassed by the actions of Tressel yet we lean on his reputation in order to get off easy from the NCAA, umm okay.

Double speak. [sarcasm]I'm aghast.[/sarcasm]

I'm in agreement that I wish they would've just ripped the band-aid off and get it over with.

The Buckeye Games DB has been updated to reflect 12 games from the 2010 season being vacated. There are two sets of columns in the totals table, one set reflects the outcome on the field, and the set on the right side reflects the wins being vacated.

so do you guys think the NCAA will accept osu's own punishment, or do you think they'll add anything on to it?
I fear that the NCAA will still come down hard on OSU. They didn't care much for USC's self-sanctions and I don't think this will be much different.

I dont believe there are any other issues with the "cars" or "TP". I would assume that those concerns would be in the NOA and the board would have addressed them in this response, but I could be wrong. The SI article was just a bunch of BS and fluff anyways so I never even paid attention to it at all.

Now if the NCAA found more information while digging that we did not address then we are in big trouble.

My thinking COULD be wrong... but for Ohio State to 'address' those other issues, the NCAA would have to give us a NOA for those things, right?

That is my only savings grace to reconcile what Union is saying... cuz those heavier penalties could be for things that have not officially been investigated.

if anything maybe another year of probation and possible scholarships, I don't see bowl bans

this isn't anything like USC

Agreed that this isn't like USC in that we didn't stonewall the NCAA like USC did. On the other hand, our coach was caught lying about players and their eligibility which isn't something that USC did, so I'm not really sure if we're better off or not.
