What ESPN fails to mention is that we SELF REPORT. How can there be a total lack of institutional control when the institution turns itself in?

Because the LOIC charge is about failures in monitoring compliance with NCAA rules and has nothing to do with who reported it.

WRONG!

What you are describing is the Failure to Monitor Penalty. Because if we DIDN'T report it, that is when LOIC happens.

LOIC is just sexy to say versus "Failure to Monitor" in the media so that is why the sheep keep saying it. But in reality, I think really the worst penalty we will get is Failure to Monitor with what has been reported up to this point.

The NCAA will make a ruling ..they don't have to be 'fair'. they don't have to consider anything about the SEC when they decide the penalties for us, its the NCAA it wont make sense either. If Smith is able to use any of his influence to get the penalties reduced we will be lucky or if he and Gee are able to dump it all on JT.

It's been going on for years right under the nose of the administration, regardless of when the email was sent.

... and I smoked pot, drank beer, and had sex with girlfriends in both of my parents' houses from the time I was 15 until I moved out. My parents never figured all this stuff out until I told them well after I'd turned 30. Hell, I'm just now figuring out where my 11 year old son has been stashing the candy wrappers in his bedroom for the last 3 years.

Just because players are violating rules doesn't mean compliance or coaches will figure it out.

No person - no parent - can keep tabs on ONE kid 24/7. It's impossible. Try keeping tabs on over 100. If the players don't want to get caught, there's a good chance they won't be. You'd have more success herding cats.

Perhaps Storm's father should read the SI article again. The writer says that the tattoo parlor worker said that some players traded their memorabilia for tattoos OR cash. So Storm fit the 2nd category if he doesn't have tattoos.

Perhaps you should brush up on your reading skills. Storm's dad said all of Storm's memorabilia is accounted for.

How in the world would his father know that only he has all of Storm's memorabilia? Storm could certainly have given some stuff to the tattoo artists too for cash. Get real.

It's clear that you want so badly to believe this is true that you'll take the word of an anonymous tipster over the player's father. Your choice.

Is this jagoff for real?

Not to be a debbie downer...

Really the only problem with any suit is SI will then say 'memorabilia' could be stuff he took from the locker room and/or autograph pictures. And he could have gotten money versus tats. But maybe the resident lawyers here can expound on that.

But the key is if a few players can make a loud enough stink about it the court of public opinion could knock the SI article down a few pegs.

I'm in the boat that will only believe what BACKDohrmann wrote when it has been officially proven to be true.

It didn't seem valid when it came out, then I read where he came from NoD in 95(graduated right before Eddie slashed them), and discounted everything up til now(especially with Klein and Simon's dads ripping him).

Then add in everything Schad misreported.

I'll wait to see what happens with both BACKDohrmann and Schad.

Nothing will happen with either one of them.

There is no accountability.

Yep. This is the society we live in. If you print it enough times or post it on the Internet a large segment of the population will take it as the gospel truth. Other sites (forums) are already ripping Simon and Klein's dads because no Pulitzer winner would ever lie. What a crock.
