Wrestling Chat (WWF, WWE, WCW, etc.)

I read the WWE network crashed last night after a rush of people tried to cancel their subscription at once.

Apparently "#CancelWWENetwork" was trending :slappy:. With news that the next 2 shows (Raw and Smackdown) are likely cancelled due to the snow, the company is ape-fucked if they don't do something. The network has really put them in a bind: Before they could run any storylines they wanted, push anyone they wanted, and basically do whatever they wanted, as long as the sponsors of their free TV show were happy enough and they generated some base # of PPV buys. Now though, they are so reliant on network subscriptions that they are going to have to scrap the stupid shit no one wants to see or face a mass of cancellations. And whereas before people might have decided not to buy a few PPVs but might have gone back for RR or WM, now once they cancel, they will likely give up on wrestling. So they have no choice but to scrap their plans. They didn't last year, and they don't this year. I will give them a touch of credit, the idea of Reigns/Lesnar didn't sound on paper like a horrible idea like Batista/Orton did. But he hasn't come along as far as they had hoped, and once he got appendicitis and was out for a while, they should have known it would never work because he just isn't ready. Now, like last year, they're going to have to add someone to the match, and fast.

nope, they're clueless

While the #CancelWWENetwork hashtag was trending last night and most of today, WWE sources indicate that while there were some customers who canceled their subscriptions due to the Royal Rumble, it wasn't such a large amount that WWE considers it a significant number internally.

There's a feeling within WWE that much of the buzz is just fans voicing their anger over how the Rumble pay-per-view played out, specifically Daniel Bryan's elimination and the 30-man main event.

Sources also indicated that while there were some issues with buffering during the WWE Network stream of the Rumble, there was no outage on WWE's side and the issues were not widespread. There may have been a more localized problem causing issues that had nothing to do with WWE's end.

Former WWE wrestler Lisa Marie Varon, AKA Victoria (AKA Tara in TNA, but no one should reasonably know that, ever) owns a pizza restaurant in Chicago called the Squared Circle. Recently, a man with a gun tried to force his way into the kitchen of the restaurant, but when he reached for his weapon, Lee Varon (Lisa Marie's husband and former bouncer) took care of business. Quite easily.

Victoria was pretty good, better than most of the Diva fluff. She could wrestle and still be fairly attractive.
Hopefully 3rd time is the charm on this Chicago restaurant. She used to own a pizzeria in Louisville which went under, then a custom bike shop in the same city that mysteriously went up in flames after they were featured on a local "Consumer Watch" for some bad business.

I watched TNA, at least until Austin Aires was taken off. She was great there too. Agree that she can wrestle, disagree about being fairly attractive. I think she is gorgeous.

I was being conservative. Occasionally if you mention a WWE Diva is attractive on a web board you get a lot of "Ewww, gross" comments  On the flip side, if you're not into a particular Diva like Lita you may be crucified.

They're going thru a divorce and she's trying to get the place shuttered from LA, where she lives now. The husband evidently was/is boinging one of the bar wenches. Victoria pulled all the celebrity appearances from her industry pals but there's apparently a pretty devoted group of fans who show up to watch Raw and especially PPVs. I don't know if that's enough to stay afloat. They have some pretty outrageous burgers/other fried things that I enjoy, but those are everywhere in a city Chicago's size.

I really only care about the ones who can wrestle-never Chyna though, for a myriad of reasons, and I certainly don't "get" Lita. Great performer, just not my idea of attractive. Want to talk about getting bashed, I just mentioned that I watched TNA

Same, I typically never cared much for the bimbos that were just there for the eye candy. If you want that, there's plenty of other places you can see it. Trish was pretty bad when she first showed up, but by the end she was a decent wrestler and had the looks too. Micky James was in that same boat. I did like Stacy Keibler despite not being a great wrestler, those legs were amazing.

I am fine with eye candy if it's a good valet, but those are few and far between. Elizabeth, Woman, Sherri-good Lord, they're all dead.
