WR Torrance Gibson (Green Bay Blizzard)

Some comparisons to TP look valid.
But the level of competition week to week should be much stronger in Florida than Pennsylvania.
Gibson repeatedly was running for his life this year with a weaker O line. And when you see 5 guys have him in their crosshairs and he escapes you're just left in awe for his athletic ability.
He looks more elusive than TP.
His arm is stronger.
He seems like more of a team player than TP ever was.
But this is not Tressel coaching QBs. This is Urban and Urban's/Herman's system.

It's about the system and (as Meyer says over and over) the players around the QB.

Gibson will be in a drastically better system with significantly better WRs (at the very least numbers wise) than Pryor ever had.

Head to head, I think Pryor is better. However, I have no doubt Gibson will put up ridiculous numbers at Ohio State and surpass Pryor's yearly totals if given the opportunity.

pryor was army bowl mvp against best in the country...
I don't know who's better...but I think gibson could put up big numbers...any of our 6 qbs can...

MVP of a game where players are thrown together after a week of practice doesn't mean anything. He basically won the award because on a shot put throw on a trick play. Gibson is light years ahead of where Pryor was throwing the ball coming out of high school. Pryor was a poor QB his 1st 2 years of college, and are development of him was not good. You can't question Gibson's speed or arm strength, just waiting to see his decision making, and how he reads defenses.

Some info you didn't mention about TP though is that Robiskie and Hartline were quite good WRs and could've worked perfect with TP if he could ever get them the ball accurately. And our coaches knew that and simplified the play book like crazy, and he spent his first 2yrs primarily running option plays with Boom and Zoom. I'm actually hoping Gibson can redshirt and learn, because the game is very different in college for DT QBs, as they're no longer the fastest and strongest kids, but have to learn to utilize their legs in broken plays and when the defense dictates it, in HS they can impose their will on defenses as their usually the best athletes on the field. I could only imagine the difference in the games of TP and Braxton if they had a year to redshirt to learn to read defenses better and learn the QB position better instead of being thrust into action. No matter how good the WRs are, Gibson still has to be able to find them accurately.

The Torrance Gibson Blog: Ohio State commit talks about taking more visits, Buckeyes' national title chances and more
OK, so everyone wants to know about me taking visits to different schools while I’m committed to Ohio State. Basically my mom wants me to see what’s out there because she wants me to make sure I’m 100 percent making the best decision.

No, she doesn’t want me to decommit or anything, she just wants me to have seen everything. I’ll be taking officials to LSU and Auburn.

Ohio State fans shouldn’t worry at all. Just let me enjoy this process; it’s the only time I’ll be able to do this in my lifetime.

This is the exact advice I would give my own son. Although I might add something about hostesses.

It's possible someone is in Mom's ear. But I haven't seen any evidence of that yet.
This one will bare watching till the paperwork is in.

Let's not start reaching. It could be a mother wanting her son to make sure OSU is the place for him unequivocally. I would do the same for my son too, this after all is the biggest decision of his life

Rivals $ - Visit 'changed things a lot'

From Auburn site.....Visit went well & talks about how Coach Malzahn developed Cam Newton & Nick Marshall. Says he doesn't have a problem redshirting, but doesn't want to sit for two or three years (see what Auburn is selling; OSU QB Depth). Has Official scheduled to LSU next weekend and then in-home visits with the Auburn & Ohio State staffs.
