Defensive Tackle/QB? Whoa, I've stumbled into the Jared Lorezen thread-thought I was in Gibson thread.http://sports.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-rivals250/2015
Now being rated as a DT QB, and not even in the top 250 now...
Defensive Tackle/QB? Whoa, I've stumbled into the Jared Lorezen thread-thought I was in Gibson thread.
It's them being technical. They're saying that if they were to grade him as being only a QB, and not having any chance of being a WR, then he's not top 250. Even though in reality he's only being given a shot at QB, and if he does not succeed he will be moved to WR. So their logic is flawed. But at the same time makes sense. But not really.Thank you for the explanation. Now makes sense although I'm a bit surprised he isn't in the top 250.
Also, I think Lendak could also play DT and QB. And all other positions. :)
When it comes down to it, Gibson can play quarterback at Ohio State. It will not be right away, due to his mechanics, the depth chart and consistent accuracy but he has all of the natural tools to eventually compete for a spot. I would have loved to see him get quality time with Coach Herman but that will not be happening anymore. With the proper coaching, I can most certainly see Gibson as the starting quarterback on a national championship contender at The Ohio State University.
1. Torrance Gibson, QB, Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage.
Once a consensus five-star, Gibson's stock has plummeted on the industry generated 247Sports Composite rankings despite leading his team to back to back state championships. Gibson is still ranked among the top 65 players in the country on 247Sports but there are doubts around the industry about his ability to play quarterback at the next level. Gibson will have the opportunity to silence those doubters while working at quarterback in San Antonio. As an Ohio State commit, if he can show consistency as a passer, you have to like his chances of making an impact in that offensive system.
