I'm fairly confident the staff has known Gibson has been trending this way for awhile now.

Travis Waller is supposed to fly in from California on his own dime in early June and Birmingham has recently crystal balled Joe Burrow to Ohio State.

I don't think the staff was taken off guard by this, and in any case, the plan all along has been to secure a QB over the next few months and pursue Gibson until signing day.

In that regard, the Wimbush commitment had a much bigger impact on the board than this will. The only question will be if the staff likes someone enough to take a second QB rather than pursue Gibson until the end.

In reference to my previous post, the staff has known about this trend for awhile because this doesn't appear to be a separate incident.

Seems likely that Andy Slater has just failed at twitter.

Either way, everything in my previous post stands. There are behavioral issues right now that OSU will have to consider moving forward and that Gibson is hopefully addressing. There will be plenty of time for that as this has always been heading to signing day.
