WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

The guy who wrote that article is a complete dumbass! The one spot the guy should be able to contribute at is WR?!?!?!? Do these guys actually watch the fucking games? IDIOT! Trent Green is a piece of crap who cant throw the ball farther than 10 yards and usually hits the guy in the wrong colored jersey's. When he's actually throwing to our guys they are making plays. Chambers is having an excellent beginning to the season as far as catches goes not so much on the TD's. Booker hasnt dropped anything thrown his way and gets most of whats in the neighborhood. Finally the Dolphins have gotten Ronnie Brown going which should open up the offense a little more. Ted hasnt gotten a chance to do anything yet. They compare him to Bowe who had 1 catch the first game and only got playing time because Kennison went down and now he's starting. Yes Bowe looks like he's taking off but he's becoming an integral part of the offense. Ginn is not. Teddy should be in there every series but he's lucky to get 10 plays a game. The comparisons and the criticisms arent fair yet. Give the kid some time actually being a part of the offense down there then criticize him if he doesnt produce. He's over 25 yds per kick return and the punts are getting better every week. There are many more problems in Miami than Ted Ginn's production. Newberg says exactly what all other Dolphins fans are thinking, "Just put him out there and go deep" until the other team starts pulling safeties. Get the ball in his hands. At least make the other team fear the deep ball and give Ronnie Brown some more room to run.

I believe that Ted has the skills to succeed in the NFL but apparently he is going to be a work in progress. The coaches for the Phins are using him as they see fit but there are other receivers who are doing better, ie Calvin Johnson.
Remember that Ted wasn't a wr but a corner back and was still learning the position at tOSU, and now has to relearn the NFL version of it.
People can say whatever they want to about him now and yet is it the finished product that will be remembered.
GO TEDDY!

Great first return today. He seems to be running with confidence. He is due. On a side note he has been on the kickoff coverage team. With his frame this kinda surprised me.

On the receiving side he does not seem to get as many snaps as I thought he would.

After that knee to the head I wonder if Trent Green is done for good.

Its actually been the Miami defense that has sucked all season. The Oline has been a big surprise with their play lately. Green is probably done. He has been awful this season so far throwing the ball to the other team and Cleo hasn't gotten any snaps. Cleo did connect with Ted today for a 36 yarder though and Teddy should benefit from him and Beck now getting reps to throw the deep ball.

Ginn comes to life with long return and reception

HOUSTON ? The first few weeks of Ted Ginn Jr.'s NFL career he was tentative. Limited. Borderline invisible.
All that changed Sunday in Houston when Miami's top draft pick asserted himself in a big way, beginning with a 52-yard kickoff return that shot through a gap right up the middle and was tantalizingly close to a breakaway touchdown play.

"Looked like he was a step or two away," Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said of the first-quarter return. "Let's not kid ourselves, though. Standing up here after you come up short and talking about positives wears thin with everybody." Moving on to the negatives, then, it was Ginn's drop of a handoff from Trent Green that led to the Dolphins' quarterback sustaining a concussion in an attempt to save the play. Ginn picked up the bouncing ball and reversed field, eventually taking a loss of 2 yards after a long and rambling run. Meanwhile, Green, attempting to block for him, got run over by Houston's Travis Johnson and had to be rolled off the field on a stretcher.

This can't make the Dolphins fans happy

From what I've noticed, Dolphins fans were very unhappy with Green so far and would've preferred Beck to be starting or at least given some pt.

BINGO!!!!!

I never want to wish that kind of injury or any type illness on a player, but Cameron should've had Green holding the clipboard when that play happened instead of in the game. Green has been a major reason for the Dolphins 0-5 start, coupled with the run D, and should've been mentoring John Beck by now. Cleo will get the start this week for sure but keep an eye out for the Dolphins future, John Beck, real soon.

Green isnt the sole reason for the 0-5 start. The O line was completely revamped and has been unstable, the d-line and LB corps are old and injured, the DB's are outgunned with no pressure on the opposing QB, the new coaches brought new strategies which probably havent been fully implemented, and Cam Cameron has been playing rotatarunningback with Chatman and Brown until recently. Not to mention the fact that Miami traded away Welker (who is having great success in NE) and Sammy Morris (ditto). Miami is a team that hasnt been able to find an answer since before Marino left.

As for comparing Ginn to his classmates of 07, besides Bowe (who had a decent game against the worst secondary in the NFL and two good games against teams struggling with new defensive coaches) all rookie receivers with impressive starts, have had pass happy QBs passing the ball to them.

James Jones - Favre
Gonzalez - Manning
Calvin Johnson - Kitna
