WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

MililaniBuckeye, where's the bet man? I'm not gonna give you 6 punts, because 6 punts isn't going to happen in my opinion. Drop that number by half and you got yourself a bet. Teddy's the man...right?

And I love how you guys are pointing out his games against Michigan and Michigan State when I've already pointed out that their Punt D is in the lower tier of the lower tier. DeFor is absolutely corrected, Oklahoma State does not look away from a return man. I honestly can not recall a time this year we have punted the ball out of bounds, and that includes trying to pin them against the the goal line (with Cole's accuracy and our guys' speed, we just get the guys down there to down the ball).

As I've said before, Teddy is good, damn good, but you guys are fools to not admit that Oklahoma State has the best punter and the best punt coverage team that he has faced all year.

this couldnt have anything to do with the fact that they had to cover one of the best PR in the country could it . the teams the colts play give up lots of points you know....their defenses must suck.

i dont recall this ever being disputed before. i like how you bring it up as if we have all argued against it for weeks :roll2:

Hmmm.... back on page 1, you showed that MSU and UM have the #1 and #19 punters in the nation, both better than #21 Cole. And Okie St's punt D was, what #73? You listed half a dozen of our opponents with better rankings than that Who's the fool here?

Go ahead and bring those gunners--I hope (for your sake) they've got sub-4.2 speed.

Also, I think WangHo is disregarding the patently obvious fact that those opposing-punt-D numbers are seriously skewed by being scorched by TG2; take out his TD returns and I'm sure their numbers look a little better...

You're the one backing out of the bet by limiting the amount of returns he can have...if you're so sure that OkSU won't punt 6 times, then you have nothing to lose. By the way, 6 punts is max number of punts that Ginn went without taking one back for a TD.

in the battle between a 90yrd run back for our speicial teams or our offense being able to drive 50yrds against an average defense... one of these units beats the other 7 out of 10. if you feel your team is that much better than ours then by all means feel free to play to our strengths.

last i checked the goal was to make ones weakest link win the game, not their strongest. it pleases me to see that both the oosu fans and coaches believe ginn is the weakest link and not zwick and the offense.

but ill tell you this much. the last 6 teams we have played this year would gladly spot tOSU offense the 50 yrd line rather than face ginn on a punt return from his own 1.

Kevin, I was referring to the combination of punter and coverage team. Not the individual aspects. The combination of the two is the best yall have seen all year.

Mililani, I prefer to make bets I think I can win, not bets I don't think I'll lose. Yes there's a difference. If I don't think the bet will see action, why make the bet?

I'm glad I started this thread, it's gotten rather interesting.

Maybe we can start a vBet about whether or not Mili and WangHo will ever agree to make a real bet.

This thread illustrates perfectly the difference between the Internet fan who pores over pages of statistics and the football fan who actually watches players play. NO ONE who watches TG2 can come away from that taking him lightly or thinking that his skills are a mere illusion that comes from playing "weak" competition. The reality for Cowboy fans is this -- if your gunners get blocked or if they miss, he's gone. TG2 is the best returner I have ever seen in nearly 30 years of watching football at any level. On the evening of the 29th, you'll get it.
