WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

exactly, on scouts some people think this showing really hurt his draft status.

He will now be the 4th WR taken in the draft. C.Johnson, D. Bowe, R.Meachem. Hell, D. Jarrett might even get taken before Ginn after his workout.

That's just crazy talk G4H. I may have let it slide until you threw out Jarrett. It has been reported that the surface he was running on was wet. Also, he's not denying that he is not 100%, I heard 80%. Running a 4.38 on 80% wheels, not too fucking bad. When he is healthy he is low 4.2's. Ginn is a better athlete than all those receivers you mentioned, except for maybe CJ. Jarrett ran like a 4.6, come on, most linebackers run faster than that. Jarrett is a late second early third round pick. Teddy will be healthy, and if teams drafting don't realize how special he is, they will regret it in the long run.

I still don't get it. Injuries heal. It is not a secret how fast he is. I understand that these workouts are important, but his audition for the NFL is not the workout. It was the years of actual football...

I think it is horse shit too how much these workouts are talked about. Teddy was a stud WR/KR/PR for 3 college seasons with no injury problems. He had a freak accident and it is an injury that will not have lingering effects and it WILL HEAL. He is a home run deep threat that could also be a game breaker in your return game. Hell you could even turn him loose in your Secondary in Dime/Nickel situations if you really wanted to, he is that talented. Meachem? Bowe?? You gotta be fucking kidding me. They didn't have nearly the success that TG had at tOSU. Look at the way he lit up Leon Hall, the douche bag they have being taken in some mocks top 10. Teddy exploited him and made him look like a JV corner trying to cover Jerry Rice in his prime. If anyone has any doubts about Teddy, just hop over to YouTube and look at some of his highlight videos. Especially the KR for a TD in the NC game against Florida where he was leaving "speedster" Reggie Nelson in his dust.

wasnt willis projected top 3 before the injury? and yes the injury to willis was much worse but he still fell what 23 spots?

And yes these NFL guys are stupid and one minded about a simple work out look at the mock drafts right after the season and now, people have went way up and way down just because of them. Hell look at some of the past drafts.

Jimmy Williams was projected top 15 last year slid all the way to 37 on bad workouts

heath miller was projected 13-20 then had that mild sport hernia and slid to pick 30

in 04 Steven Jackson was projected 10-15 and slid to 24 baised on his workout numbers.

there is always atleast 1 player that slids the wrong way in the 1st round because of his works outs, and i believe this year it Teddy.

Jury is still out on J Dub, but the other two you mention, don't you think these teams look back now and realize their analysis was wrong? It's examples like this that show the error in that thought process. I would hope that GM's and Scouts are learning from past mistakes. I am sure I can dig through the list of players who had phenomenal workouts and were total busts in the NFL. It goes both ways. I can not think of a player who had a great collegiate career, had bad workouts and it turned out that the workouts were indicitive of how he was going to perform at the NFL level. I could be wrong, and would like to hear examples if I am.
