I think that needs to happen. Running the shot-Ginn and never throwing would be a mistake. You have to make the defense defend the whole field. I think we'll see Ginn throw 2-3 TD passes this year.Zurp said:Not to change the subject (afterall, I'm still on the subject of Ginn), but does anyone know how well Ginn can throw the ball? I think I heard he threw a little in High School, and maybe once in the Army AA game, or Big33 game, or something. It's one thing to throw against high-school kids, and another to throw in college.
I'm not asking about the likeliness of Tressel calling the play for Ginn to throw the ball (I don't see that happening), but of Ginn's ability to pass it. It's one of those things to think about during the off-season.
Last time I checked a kickoff isn`t done because you are punting on downs...MililaniBuckeye said:I'm sure our defense will oblige by forcing you to punt about 14 times...

If what I hear is right, and Ginn CAN throw decently well, I think he SHOULD throw a couple times throughout the season. If he throws during the Miami game just once, then Texas won't be able to simply try to contain him on an end-around, or he'll throw right over them. They'll know that they have to stay back, and running lanes will be open. However, I just don't see Tressel calling a play where Ginn throws it. I would love to see it happen, but my prediction is that Tressel won't call it.FindlayBucks said:I think that needs to happen. Running the shot-Ginn and never throwing would be a mistake. From BN, after the Alamo Bowl:Zurp said:However, I just don't see Tressel calling a play where Ginn throws it. I would love to see it happen, but my prediction is that Tressel won't call it.
“We planned on playing Ted at quarterback,” Tressel said. “We didn’t know when it would be. I wasn’t sure when we might get to it. We had rehearsed seven or eight plays, nothing too fancy. We had one pass play called, but he only had 10 guys on the field and we had to call a timeout. Teddy is a special guy.”
Like I said, I'd love to see it happen. I would LOVE to see the first play of the season be a reverse-pass deep, Ginn to Holmes. This info leads me to believe that my prediction very well may be wrong. This is one time I wouldn't mind being wrong.Deety said:From BN, after the Alamo Bowl:

It might be funny to see them attempt it, though.MolGenBuckeye said:Yep, not gonna happen.
Not after he returns the kickoff to their 5. :)
