WR Roy Hall (Official Thread)

I gotta give Roy some love. He was outstanding as the 3 or 4th option in the game especially early on. Roy's a nice physical possesion reciever. He's one of the better stalk blockers I've ever seen in college and does a nice job on crack backs. He just seems like the ideal team guy playing 3,4, or 5 on the WR depth chart. With the primadonna factor of many wr's these days Roy is a gamer.

Kinda cool story here. I had to work saturday until 2:30pm. At about 10:00am a rather tall gentleman and his wife came into the department looking for a gas range. The man was decked out in Buckeye sweatshirt, jacket, and hat. I commended him on his choice of attire and after they picked out their range and were leaving the sales floor I just had to blurt out a "Go Bucks." The man turned around and said "keep an eye on #8 today." I said, "you mean Roy Hall?" He said "yea, he's my grandson." We chatted a bit about Roy's career and his being slowed by injuries. Grandpa said Roy was finally at 100% and expected a big game from him. Damn if he wasn't right.

I've always rooted for Roy Hall just a bit harder than my "normal" rabid passion I have for most of the other players.

Ever since the comparisons began with him to Boston while he was being recruited I was excited for that type of potential. But when I heard stories about Roy "mentoring" other players such as Santonio Holmes while they were young guys on the 2002 & 2003 teams, fostering attitudes of patience and 'waiting their turn' while behind some of the other receivers at tOSU I've just really wanted him to reap the benefits of his leadership and hard work.

It's great to see him have such a solid game on such a huge stage like the scUM Game and even better to hear that NFL GMs have him on their radars. He has a great "NFL body" and should get a chance based on that alone.

which round?

I too have rooted hard for Roy Hall and all of the proud Christian Buckeyes. Maybe I didn't go back far enough in this thread but what are the experts predicting him to go in the draft? By the way, who could forget the lasting memories of Roy and Teddy high fiving at the beginning of all of the home games this season in the middle of the field!!!! :oh: :io:

OHIO STATE FOOTBALL "No matter what I say, [people] will still look at the picture and say I was the reason he got hurt."Roy Hall,Ohio State wide receiver

Photo leaves shades of scarlet and gray

Plain Dealer Reporter
Dublin, Ohio -- Roy Hall saw the photo for the first time when he returned from the Hula Bowl in Hawaii, once he had already been identified as the player who tackled Ted Ginn Jr. for the last time as a Buckeye. Now prepping himself for a shot at an NFL career, with his Ohio State marketing degree in hand, the former Brush High star believes it wasn't his celebratory tackle of Ginn that caused the mid-foot sprain that ended Ginn's night in the BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 8.

Roy may be always remembered for tackling Ted but I don't think it would have made a difference in the game outcome. Good luck in the pros Roy. You are a good Buckeye and that is how I will remember you.

No need for Roy to come out and try to say his "tackle" on Ted didnt cause the injury.. It's obvious it did... we all know it was an accident, and I dont think anyone is blaming Roy for what happend.. he slipped and rolled up on Ted... It happens...
