WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

Is it just me or does this kid have Percy Harvin type speed if we can get him the ball. The option would be perfect for this kid. Lets not be afraid to take a page out of the enemies playbook and utilize this kid to the best of his abilities.

Thank you! I've been talking about this and all I've got was responses trying to diss my thoughts. At least someone else sees what I'm seeing in him.

Look for Thomas to get some more PT this week. I spoke with him at a business near campus and he was pumped up about this weekend saying they are using him in practice alot this week. I would like to see his wheels....

It's Flash's time to shine.

He must have earned it in practice and hopefully he can showcase it on the field. It's a golden opportunity to make his mark. There are players that take advantage when they are asked to step up and this could be his. While he could help the WRs with Small questionable, I think he can make a quicker mark on special teams.

I also happy to hear that he could see time in the backfield. Maybe they've spent some time watching how Florida gets Percy Harvin the ball. I know Percy's a little stronger, but comparable. Pryor/Thomas? Go watch the US Army All American game.

This could go on either DeViers or Lamaars. I watched a JT interview over on the o-zone. JT spoke very highly of what he has been seeing out of DeVier and Flash. Hopefully we can find playing time for him, with or without injuries!

JT is grooming his WR Corp for next year. These two will be even better with the experience they get this year. I love Posey, but have not seen enough of Flash.

OSU is scary thin at RB with injuries.

Boom - out
Zoom - apparently bothered by hamstring
M Wells - out with back two weeks ago
B Wells - 75% last estimate

I think getting LT some time at tailback is a darn good idea before the fullbacks start getting handoffs.

Yea, like everyone is saying LT and TP tore it up in the AA game. I didn't see it due to work, but if thats the case.. LETS DO IT!

Sucks, but I'm really excited to see what our young guys (Flash) can do. And this means TP might break 100 yards.

ON THE CLOCK WITH DOUG LESMERISES
Freshman's first return is special

Sunday, October 12, 2008 Doug Lesmerises
Plain Dealer Reporter

Columbus-
3:34 p.m.:
Purdue kicks off to Ohio State freshman Lamaar Thomas, who tightropes the sideline while snagging the football before beginning a return that couldn't be held back. Waiting all season for the first return of his career, he'd joked to fellow returner Mo Wells he wasn't kneeling on it in the end zone no matter what.
"I think my foot was real close to the sideline," Thomas said, "so I was kind of hesitant at first. Once the ref didn't blow the whistle, I took off with it."
Thomas, No. 3 on the kickoff return depth chart in preseason camp, said he was dropped off the return list two weeks ago. Then Monday, with the injury to Dan Herron, he got a text message from Darrell Hazell that he'd be back there Saturday.
"I was like, 'Who, me?' " Thomas said.
His first return went down the right sideline for 36 yards and gave OSU fans a taste of what might be to come for a return game that has been lacking explosiveness.

it was great to see him get to his high end speed immediately and go north-south. Way too much pitter-pattering in the return game this year...

I agree, he showed us a gear that we have been without this year. Saine is fast but is too stiff and not shifty enough. Flash has the speed and turns it north/south very quickly. Hope he returns this week doing the same.

I agree fellas, this offense has some explosion blewing with Thomas and Posey getting involved. Thomas and Posey are going to be two of the best in the Big Ten next season. Now is the time of the season when the light begins to click on with some of these younger guys.

Thomas gives you that "Ginn" factor.......something that our offense has since their 2006 campaign.
