WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

Well this is going to be the first possible "surprise" we're going to get. The only real surprise committ we have had imo is Shugarts and the rest most pretty much knew would be Buckeyes (great to get them nontheless). I felt good about Thomas but I just get a bad feeling here. I honestly think he could as easily pick Illinois as OSU. My prediction is OSU but I say that with a lot of apprehension. Either way, should be fun to see how the next couple of weeks shake out.

I think OSU has less then a 50% chance here. Just a gut feeling along with some of the Illinois board seeming to have the inside scoop.

tOSU +75% chance on this one is my call...

Illinois people are confident because of their recent success in that area and their coach, but I'd be surprised (not shocked) if they get this one...

His name is Jeff Errman

And he's said that a lot of different places. Illinois people were confident because of Coach Locksley relationship with Lamaar and his dad. But I trust Jeff on this one and he has OSU with a slight lead and Maryland second.

FWIW, I am a little more confident than some of my BPRT compadres...I don't think there is any way OSU doesn't land Thomas.

Now hold-up... 75% is pretty confident in the recruiting world...

Your confidence on the issue might force my percentage even higher though...

OH I love it...classic stock push based upon other investors. Yikes!!!

Curious, as a WR - small build, 5 foot 10, I wonder how the staff would use Thomas. Presumably we'd get more out of him than "Barn" Childress.

If 45 is that confident on it, I'm not going to argue ...
Slot WR, deep go-routes, Shot-Ginn formation, end-arounds... He's a weapon... You'll see us use him a lot like we used Teddy and are trying to use Ray Small (from time to time)...
Flash has tremendous feet, speed, and acceleration... Not to mention he's an ankle breaker when he goes for space...
He may not be ideal height, but he's pretty muscular now and will be even more so with a college program...

Take a look at Santana Moss and Steve Smith, pracitcally the same size. Sounds like Lamaar's got that kind of potential. Hopefully he ends up like Steve Smith and anytime anyone talks trash he'll have like 200 yards recieving and 3 TDs. Height don't matter if he's a gamer. Sounds exactly like what he is.
