Just read an article where he said he was visiting Tennessee next week.

BB

Have you been to the Tennessee campus??? Not too exciting! Unless he has friends, family, or really really likes fulmer...
Oh and if Orange is his favorite color and he doesn't care how many times he hears "good ole rocky top" but I don't think so and in the end he will come to the same conlclusion.

I agree, but there must be something to that 'ole rocky top magic, Ben Martin was certainly enchanted by it last year.

I think if the DE depth looked like it does right now last year, even the Rocky Top "magic" wouldn't have worked.

Anyway, Lamar has maintained that OSU is the leader even after visiting other campuses. Until he changes it again, IF he does, I'm sold on him wanting to be a Buckeye.

regardless, i'd prefer that osu have the 3rd of his 3 official visits.

(Thomas is probably the second fastest recruit in this class after Harry Adams from Florida).

Carlin Isles might have something to say about that...

Thomas and Small are very different players...Thomas could almost be a RB (and likely would be if he were to go to Illinois or Maryland). OSU is recruiting him as a WR, likely to play in the slot. I agree that Thomas is probably closer to Ginn than Small is, but I don't think it is fair to compare every burner OSU recruits to Ginn.

Not to be a wet blanket, but I think Knoxville is a pretty cool town, and the Tennessee campus (and the town area right around campus) is very nice.

Agreed...I had a blasty blast when I went to visit some friends there back when I was in college. I would not be surprised to see Thomas use officials to OSU, Illinois and one or both of Tennessee and Maryland.

I really think Thomas would be one of those players that you develop special packages for. I agree he'd be the perfect slot receiver for our system, but I could also see him getting some regular carries out of the backfield, in addition to getting touches on end arounds and reverses, not to mention returning punts or kicks. He'd probably be one of the most versatile recruits we've had in a while(going back to Ginn probably).

He's very much built like a sprinter. Very muscular and strong. He's not a twig that would need to put on a lot of weight.

Brandon Saine is less versatile IMO. Saine has great speed, but he'll likely be a runningback and a kick returner. Thomas could play running back, wide receiver(Thomas's hands are much better than Saine's IMO, and Thomas is probably a little more shifty while Saine is more powerful and faster on a straight line), or cornerback, though I think he'll strictly be an offensive player if he comes here.

Saine is being looked at as a receiver too though I think eventually he'll strictly be a runningback.
