Monday, four-star wide receiver Noah Brown committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, his other finalist. The 6-2, 220-pound Pope John XXIII (Sparta, N.J.) star made his final decision the day after returning home from an Ohio State official visit. Brown made the trip to OSU with his older brother, and got the opportunity to spend extended one-on-one time with Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer. The results of that interaction proved insurmountable for the Rutgers program as Brown decided to leave the state and represent Rutgers' latest emerging rival in the Big Ten conference.

TH: How did the decision to attend Ohio State come about?

NB: Really, on my visit, spending time with coach Meyer, the players and also coach (Zach) Smith, it just really reassured me that Ohio State was the place that I belong.

TH: Did you know going into your official visit to Ohio State that you were going to commit to the Buckeyes?

NB: I definitely had a good feeling about them. I just wanted to spend more time with coach Meyer. Before this past weekend, I hadn't really spent any time with the players or anything like that, or really gotten to see in-depth how coach Smith teaches his wide receivers. So getting to see those three things really made me feel comfortable and know that was the place.

TH: How close did Rutgers come to being the school you selected?

NB: It was definitely a close battle, but I definitely say I'm very proud to be a Buckeye. I'm 100 percent committed to Ohio State. I'm very happy where I'm at, right now.

Four-star recruit Noah Brown of Pope John made a verbal commitment Monday to Ohio State, choosing the school over a group of finalists that included Rutgers.
. . .
"It's been really busy these past couple of months," Pope John coach Brian Carlson said. "There were a lot of schools looking at him. Both (Rutgers and Ohio State) are great programs with great coaches. He had a good recruiting group with coach (Urban) Meyer at Ohio State and that's really where he felt the most comfortable."

Let the butthurt flow through you Rutgers fans. lol. The comments are hilarious.

Idk why rutgers fan would be so angry. They're Rutgers!!! They've already recruited higher than they should in getting blacknall and Hillman, and a few others. They're getting a little cocky if they think that they'll get a majority of the NJ, tri state, new England talent.
Osu is getting a stud in brown, I can see the anquan boldin comparisons, he's just a big WR who snatches the ball out of the air, can win jump balls, and has good enough speed in the college game to be able to burn a number of opposing DBs(especially in the big 10). He, Lonnie Johnson, terry mclaurin, Curtis Samuel and possibly parris Campbell make up a stellar WR compared to any in the nation

Rutgers has gotten a lot better since the late 90's early 2000's. In 2002 they only had one win that entire season. Since then, they have performed much better and as a result, fan expectations has also increased. Rutgers is definitely not a big time football school yet, but they are heading in the right direction. Expect them to be a solid team next year.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't see rutgers competing for a Big 10 title in the near future. They played some average-bad competition while in the big east, even though the big 10 isn't all that strong, they're going to face some tougher competition weekly. And on top of that compete against teams like tOsU, scUM, penn st, Maryland, MSU(to name a few) for recruits in their own state. I'm not too worried
