VERBAL COMMIT
4/4/2023
OHIO STATE
6'2" | 170 LBS | WR | 2024
NEW HAVEN
NEW HAVEN, IN
6.0

Ohio State has long been a producer of top-tier wide receiver talent, and Tuesday's addition of New Haven (Ind.) receiver
Mylan Graham further solidifies the Buckeyes' spot as the place to be for elite receivers.

Yes, Graham's current ranking as the No. 6 overall player at his position makes his addition to the Buckeyes special, but the fact that Brian Hartline was the first to offer Graham may say just as much about his ability to identify top-tier talent as it does his ability to recruit and develop it.
Rarely do you see a blueblood program offer a player first, regardless of how talented they are, and Ohio State's ability to go start-to-finish for Graham's commitment is something to behold.
With the plethora of talented wideouts already in Columbus, one might have assumed that Ohio State's receiver recruiting would slow by default, but that fact that it hasn't and likely won't is what makes the Buckeyes' group so special. These are elite players who know what they are walking into and are not afraid of the competition that awaits.
The Buckeyes have signed no less than four receivers rated four-stars or higher during the past three recruiting cycles, with their most recent haul including both the No. 1 and No. 2 players at the position in
Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate. Graham now joins the current No. 1 at the position in 2024 in
Jeremiah Smith, and Ohio State may be making a case for more than just WR-U, it may have the most talented position group in all of college football.

“I was like a no-star, no-offer type of guy,” Graham said. “(Hartline) was like he didn’t really care. He saw some potential in me that he liked to coach. I really thought about that when I ended up committing.”
But to Graham’s commitment to Ohio State, he felt he was done washing time. And now, his attention is to be the next in line of what he describes as Hartline’s track record of developing first-round receivers.

Now that Graham has been committed to Ohio State for a couple of months, the plan for his future as a Buckeye is coming into focus. While Graham is comfortable playing both outside and inside, Hartline has told Graham he believes Graham is best suited to play the Z receiver position, which Julian Fleming currently plays for the Buckeyes and Chris Olave previously manned.

Graham says he’ll be closely watching both Fleming and Emeka Egbuka – who also started his Ohio State career playing Z before moving to the slot when Jaxon Smith-Njigba got hurt last year – this season as he prepares to compete for playing time at one of their positions next year. That said, he thinks his game is more comparable to Olave and fellow former Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson than it is to either Fleming or Egbuka.

“I kind of think my game is completely different from them two,” Graham said. “Personally, I think Garrett Wilson (is who he’s most similar to). Just with his ability to play inside and outside, and then just his quickness ability, he’s real athletic, great hands.”

He’s a five star talent. I’d imagine he would be if he wasn’t late to the “getting noticed party.” That kid is insanely good. Absurd to think we are going to have him opposite Smith soon — with McCellen in between.

ON3’s Charles Power says he believes WR Mylan Graham is the best route runner and easiest separator in a loaded 2024 WR recruiting class.

Power has seen him play in person, and says Graham plays exactly like Amari Cooper.
Cooper is an excellent comparison from the film I have watched, need to follow this guy more. Mylan is a top 5 WR in this class without a doubt, always been a huge fan of this kid.

Think about this. Smith is so good, that he overshadows another 5star in the same class! Even without Smith, Graham would be the best 2024 WR in the B1G class, by a wide margin. But he's super quiet, at a small school in a basketball crazed state and you don't see him on social media.
