WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (2022 Rose Bowl MVP, Seattle Seahawks)

BTW those of you that think I am talking bad about JSN, please realize I think Cooper Kupp was the best reciever in the NFL last year and the Super Bowl MVP. JSN is firmly capable of 150+ catch seasons in the NFL. I really hope the kid gets 25mil out of the gate. Some dumbass NFL scouts will turn their noses up at a 40 that's not in the 4.3 range.

Also have to remember, Stroud always reminds us that as great as he is as a football player, he is a even better person. That's rare.

I don't think you were talking bad. I was just pointing out things like the 40 quickness aka ability to get to top speed is more important than top speed unless top speed is really damn slow.

So basically I was just pointing out Jaxon is pretty quick even if his top speed is pretty average.

And the master of stats just proved my point

RYAN DAY, BRIAN HARTLINE HAVE “HUGE LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE” JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA CAN RETURN FOR OHIO STATE THIS SEASON

134405_h.jpg

Despite Jaxon Smith-Njigba's lingering hamstring injury, Ryan Day and Brian Hartline are hopeful the star receiver has plenty left to offer in his third season with the Buckeyes.

At his weekly press conference in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, Ryan Day said he believes Smith-Njigba will eventually return for Ohio State and help the team push for a national championship in 2022.

"Absolutely," Day said when asked if he feels optimistic about Smith-Njigba's chances of wearing a scarlet and gray uniform again this season.

Still, even without Smith-Nijigba in the lineup, Day thinks Ohio State can accomplish its goals of beating Michigan, winning a Big Ten Championship and hoisting a College Football Playoff trophy in 2022.

"I think we can," Day said. "But at the same time, I'd love to have him back, as I'm sure you can imagine. But this team is working hard, and that's why we build depth. You don't know, and I'm sure more adversity is coming our way. We got to rely on leadership. We're in November now, so you never know what's coming."

Brian Hartline echoed Day's sentiments of Smith-Njigba's eventual return, claiming he has a "huge level of confidence" that the standout pass-catcher will be back in action in the regular season or the postseason for Ohio State.

"He's beating himself up a little bit. He's been better this week," Hartline said. "He wants to play in the worst way, and he's frustrated."

Mel Kiper Jr. reveals his top-four WRs in the NFL Draft and the reasoning behind their selections

With the college football season winding down, four wide receivers have asserted themselves as first-round talents, according to ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. USC's Jordan Addison tops Kiper's receiver rankings at No. 10 and is followed by Tennessee's Jalin Hyatt (No. 13), Ohio State's Jaxon Smith-Njigba and TCU's Quentin Johnston (No. 20).
.
.
.
Kiper says Smith-Njigba, who has been limited to three games this season with a lingering hamstring injury, showed enough last season to warrant first-round consideration. Smith-Njigba led the Buckeyes in catches (95) and receiving yards (1,606) in 2021 despite playing alongside two first-round picks, Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson.

"Jaxson Smith-Njigba, he's been hurt all year. He's been injured; it is not going to hurt him in the draft," Kiper said. "He is still a first-round caliber player. He was there with Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson lighting it up last season. There only reason Jaxon Smith-Njigba isn't higher is because of his injury."

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Alabama, Georgia litter first-round selections in latest CBS projection

16. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State (New York Giants)

Speaking of star wideouts, there's another no-doubt first rounder coming out of Ohio State for 2023. Smith-Njigba should be fresh as a rookie in the NFL considering he's barely played as a junior for the Buckeyes while nursing a hamstring situation. He has eight catches this fall in limited action as the Buckeyes are playing it safe with his future.
