WR Jalin Marshall (Edmonton Elks)

When it rains it, well, snows:

"I'm still kicking myself on that one because I blocked in and I had the safety, all of the sudden I felt a scramble of people around and all of the sudden the ball is right there," Spencer said. "I went to go grab and I dived on it and I think my helmet may have hit it or something. I looked up and somebody else had it. I was close, but I didn't get to that one."

Video replay of the play showed that Marshall, who also dove for the ball, may have accidentally knocked the ball away from Spencer.

Frustrating to see him continue to make mistakes in the return game. It just so happened that he compounded those mistakes with some fumbles today.

I won't let him off the hook, but the weather did contribute a lot to issues with ball safety.

I think he'll be able to get his reps in the pass/run game enough to get him confident. I think it's time to let Samuel return kicks until he loses the job.

I agree.

You have to keep building the kid's confidence by keeping him in the offensive gameplan. However you can't keep him returning punts right now because you still have to do also what's best for your team. Besides it's not like he's been taking them to the house and worth the gamble.

His mistakes goes to show that there is more to punt returning than just having good speed.

I can see weather being a factor on his fumble into the end zone, but his punt muff was just bad technique because it hit his breastplate...he just needs to ensure he catches punts with his hands and arms.
Technique was affected with a number of Buckeyes in the cold weather, notably Michael Thomas. Thomas is very good at catching with his hands, but a perfect pass from JT hit him in the sternum also and bounced away.

Fact is, weather affected technique.

I still think as a whole our players struggle to catch with their hands. See Thomas drop in end zone. We are better this year, but it still need work.

Great twitter post by Justin Hilliard (found it on 11W):

JUSTIN HILLIARD SHOWING SOME LOVE

Many people supported Jalin, including 2015 linebacker commit Justin Hilliard. Hilliard showed his support of Jalin and showed the brotherhood that Buckeyes players are.

Justin Hilliard @JHilliard47
Found this pic with me and Jalin from back in the day. Still the best player I've ever faced.
