WR Duron Carter (Official Thread)

Rick Serritella is creepy.

The internet gives voice to a lot of people who probably shouldn't have one.

That statement extends to both the interviewer and interviewee in this case. Carter should be working on his resume or French, because there's no way he's on a team past June.

Waiting for someone to bring up the Bryce Brown straw man.

Cris Carter says son Duron can be NFL wide receiver

Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter insists his son Duron is an NFL receiver. The elder Carter said the problem was school.

"He didn't commit a crime, he has no tattoos, he has no kids, and he's a pleasant kid. His thing is he hates school, though," Cris Carter told USA Today's Mike Garafolo. "And I'm his dad. He's really bright; he's got an IQ over 130. He just hates school. We gave him the pretest on the Wonderlic. He got a 28.

"He. Just. Hates. (Bleeping). School."

Duron Carter bounced from Ohio State to Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College to Alabama to Florida Atlantic. He left Ohio State after his freshman year for being academically ineligible. Never played a single down at Alabama because he was academically ineligible and suspended for undisclosed reasons. Carter didn't receive a waiver to ever play at FAU, but was kicked out of practice at one point.

"The team that drafts Duron Carter will get the most lazy, whiny & non-work ethic player the nfl has ever seen," Cayden Cochran, Coffeyville's starting quarterback at the time, posted on his Twitter account, Garafolo reported. "I played w/him. Horrible person & will be a complete cancer to any team on the board."

C'mon Cris I don't care that he hates school. It's not hard to get a 2.0 in easy classes to stay eligible.

This.

If one has an IQ over 130, then with a bare minimum of effort, achieving and maintaining a 2.00 GPA is a given. Sadly what I take from that is, assuming the IQ over 130 is correct, Duron is too lazy to even put in the bare minimum to maintain eligibility. If something (like playing football) is really important, then one would expect a 130+ IQ individual would easily be eligible so that he could do the thing that "He. Does. Not. Hate."

I'm glad for Duron that he has a wealthy former pro athlete for a father with a cushy TV job who can make excuses for him while trying to talk his way into a job that only a fraction of a fraction of people could ever truly aspire to through hard work and dedication. Most people have to suck it up and do at least the bare minimum get by, but Duron is lucky to be an exception. Congratulations kid - whether you land in the pros or not, you apparently have it made.

Is anybody else ashamed of Cris Carter after reading that? Those excuses are more damning than anything Duron's former teammate said about him.

Yep. Guess what Chris... Everybody. Hates. F******. School. It's just that everyone else realizes it's something that must be done to get to the next level, whether that's a job or the NFL, and we can't coast by on our parents' reputation/wealth.

What an embarrassment. After those comments from Chris, you can see where the problems lie w/ Juron. Kid has been spoon-fed everything on a silver platter his entire life. I hope he does get drafted or invited into an camp. When his 130+ IQ (LOL) can't keep up w/ the playbook, the complex terminology, the rigorous training and showing up to meetings on time, he will be booted just like that.

WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD JURON. TIME TO GROW UP, TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY AND CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY.....UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU (B/C YOU ARE A LAZY ASS), IT ISN'T GOING TO BE ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD.

**Duron

Also, keep in mind it's his freakin' kid. Of course he's going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Again and again, apparently.

I don't think it's any of our place to cast aspersions on Cris for trying to help his son make it in the NFL.

If I were an NFL coach and read that, the first thing I would think is "I'm sure he's a good receiver, but what if he just hates blocking. Or he'll probably catch touchdowns if we ask him to, but he just hates going over the middle, just hates special teams, just hates practice....."

Sad
