WR Duron Carter (Official Thread)

Or maybe he just isn't able to do college coursework. I had plenty of classmates who fell into that box.

Like Judge Smails says, the world needs ditch diggers, too.
Guess it's very difficult for me to comprehend that ANYONE could not make it with the immense/unlimited? tutorial and assistance offered by tOSU football program... thus, my assumption then sways to entitlement and not giving a crap...

I see this kid on an NFL roster next year... and a pretty good receiver in year2.. I see him as a Dez Bryant... with talent and the need for a very short leash ...

What have you seen from him that gives any indication he has what it takes to be even a reserve WR on an NFL roster, yet alone Dez Bryant? He hasn't played a down of football in over three years. Even what we did see was limited. His college career? 13 receptions, 176 yards, and 1 TD. It's not like he had a David Boston-type frosh season then disappeared. He had a decent freshman campaign, then bounced around to three other campuses in three years without playing an actual game. I guess I just don't see it.

I thought the kid showed immense ability... excellent hands... tremendous blocker.. good speed (not great speed)

If he really is 6'5 and 210 lbs... I will be surprised if he's not on an NFL roster... heck, I'd take him over most of the Browns receivers... I don't remember him dropping balls... he ran good routes... and he was tough as nails

Worst case, he's Greg Little that can catch

tOSU AND Bama didn't go for him because he wasn't a huge talent...

Just sayin': I would be surprised. There is more to the NFL than running, blocking, and catching a football. If he can't pass "freshman classes" at Ohio State, Alabama, and/or FAU; I doubt that he can readily learn (memorize and understand) a NFL playbook. Everything that I've seen/read indicates that learning the playbook is not an easy/simple/quick task. To support my point, here is just one story:

Guess I don't think it's an ability thing.. I see it as an effort thing... there has to be a motivation... I'm assuming there will finally be a motivation... and if I'm wrong, then you fellas are totally correct.. we'd be looking at CFL or USFL

I assume his sense of entitlement coupled with the fact he probably led a pretty pampered life... could make him think college football would look the other way if he decided to check out in the classroom... I'm sure there are colleges that would make that work... isn't that the gist of what they are saying about North Carolina??

There will be a day y'all will be able to tell me... to eat my crow... any of you fellas that went to tOSU with him?? maybe you can tell me if I'm off course

DC's former QB at Coffeyville is apparently not a fan:

Heard an interview of Cris Carter on Mike & Mike last week where they asked him who would be the person who would introduce him at the podium when CC gets enshrined into the Hall of Fame. He said it would be his son, Duron, because he knows more about him than anyone. Thought that was pretty darn cool and worth a mention in Duron's thread.

After watching tape on former FAU WR Duron Carter, NFL.com's Gil Brandt considers the prospect a priority free agent.
Brandt tweeted that Duron reminds him a lot of his father, Cris. "Similar speed (4.58), possession type," Brandt writes. We don;t believe Carter will be drafted, and his attitude will have to be top notch to stick on an NFL roster, something that has been a major issue in the past. Apr 1
