I was thinking the same thing because he could stretch the field but there are so many FA wide receivers out there I just don't see it happening. I wanted Cleveland to draft him out of school but that didn't happen.Buckeyedynasty;1103027; said:I hope the Brownies pick him up.
Yeah that's exactly why I want him in Cleveland. He can stretch the field. It's not popular to say but in my opinion all Cleveland has is Braylon at wr. They need at least 1 more WR because if he gets hurt all we have is winslow and that's it. Carter has shown big play ability and good hands something our wr's just don't have. Come on Savage at least bring him in for a look.LitlBuck;1103039; said:I was thinking the same thing because he could stretch the field but there are so many FA wide receivers out there I just don't see it happening. Javon Walker is generating solid interest and Drew Carter, D.J. Hackett and David Patten are possibilities with the team expected to make receiver a higher priority in the draft. Carter will visit Oakland today before a trip to Tampa Bay.
Raiders: Wide receiver Drew Carter met with team officials on Sunday in an attempt to secure a contract and a shot at cracking the starting lineup. Carter, 26, spent the past four seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He was a fifth-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2004 who missed significant playing time because of knee injuries. The Raiders are in need of a proven receiver on the heels of Jerry Porter signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday. Ronald Curry, Johnnie Lee Higgins and Chris McFoy are the only receivers on Oakland's roster. Carter, 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, posted career-highs in receptions (38), yards (517) and touchdowns (4) last season.

The Titans hosted former Panthers receiver Drew Carter and former Jaguars cornerback Terry Cousin on a free agency visit on Thursday.
The Oakland Raiders continued on the fast track to improving their receiving corps by reaching a contract with Panthers wide receiver Drew Carter.
Terms of the deal -- including the length of the contract - weren't immediately known. Carter was considered one of the fastest receivers remaining on the market. With Javon Walker and Carter now added to the roster, the Raiders believe they have added more explosiveness to the offense.
