WR Devin Smith (National Champion)

If Dontre is back, I think he's the biggest asset. They are going to be sniffing out Devin wherever he goes for sure. Would love to see him get deep a couple of times though. Couple of big hitters will keep Bama pressing to keep scoring which is what we need.

Sniffing out Devin is a double edged sword. A lot of the long TDs came with Devin in the slot. Bama is more than welcome to shadow him with their best CB. This opens up Thomas on the outside.

Auburn has two good WRs. They torched Bama's secondary. The Buckeyes have Devin, Michael and Jalin, who are all home run threats. And if you pay too much attention to them, both Heurman and Vannett have proven that they can take it the distance as well. To say nothing about Corey and Evan...

I think that Alabama has a much taller order on defense than the Buckeyes. Cooper is fantastic, but he has eighty more catches than their second leading receiver for a reason. Roll help to his side, and make the other guys beat you. I'm not sure those other guys are up to the task.

Good to hear. And if Saban knows that we know, he may keep his safety's back allowing our run game to prosper?

If we can run the ball, we should win the game. That being said, Herman will have Cardale spread the ball around in the passing game and then take his shots deep with Devin at opportune moments. If Bama doubles Devin then I have confidence we have guys that can get open and that can go deep. Just dont' force anything, take what the Defense gives, and we should do fine moving the ball.

Seven NFL prospects who could make some money in bowl season

DEVIN SMITH, WR, OHIO STATE BUCKEYES

Devin Smith broke out in the B1G Championship Game with three scores. His entire body of work in 2014 was just as impressive; the senior wideout has helped the Buckeyes' offense remain productive through its revolving door of quarterbacks this fall. Smith's not mentioned in the same class as Alabama's Amari Cooper, but he has proven to be just as viable a deep threat. And when the ball is in the air, the 6-1 Smith catches it at its highest point. NFL coaches will love that.

Smith has 30 TDs for his Buckeye career, second only to David Boston who had 34.

Fifteen of Smith's 30 TD have been from 40+ yards. That's insane, and easily a Buckeye record.

Smith is averaging 27.7 yards per reception this season, which would be a Buckeye single-season record if he can maintain that average after the Oregon game.

Saturday at media day Urban was asked about Smith being ill. He replied that Devin is on a Z-Pack and stayed in the hotel room for the day to get some rest. He also said that he received texts that afternoon from Smith saying he was already feeling better, but wanted to be precautious and stay off his feet.

Sounds like he will be good to go. I'd be surprised if the team doc wasnt hanging out in smith's hotel room pumping him with IVs and meds.
