WR Bam Childress (Official Thread)

i really hope bam makes the team...i've always felt for the guy.

seeing him celebrate with holmes after his td catch against michigan....the competitor in me knows how difficult that had to be for him. yes, he was obviously happy that they were beating michigan, but you know that in his soul he was wishing that it was him getting some of the glory.

I thought last year would be his year. Heck, he even became a starter a few games in because of some early success. Then he disappeared. Then Teddy said, "Hey, I'll play."

I wish Bam all the luck in the world.

No kidding...I was sick when they called back his only TD of his career (opener against Cincy) thanks to not one but two dumbass holds on the play. You know what, I think I'll make a clip of that play in honor of what could of been for the kid...

(edit) As promised:

Childress 46-yd TD catch (called back)
Thank you very much.

I really was hoping for more from him, as we all were.

Good luck, Bam

i hope bam really does well. he is inspiration to more people than you might think. even though his bedford st peter chanel team won the D5 championship in ohio, its rare to ever see a person from that small of a school get recruited and then have a chance to play as a wideout for the buckeyes. i think bams size was detrimental to his playing time but he is still very good and has a super work effort. my friends said he was making people crack up at the nike camp but he was still very focused on what needed to be done. i wish bam the best and speaking of D5 receivers, i think tressel should check out marc krauss from hamler patrick henry. the kid is unreal and this is his senior year. he gets no publicity because of being from a smaller division but he had ted ginn type stats for scoring a touchdown everytime he caught the ball even though he doesnt have a ted ginn type of style. kid was 6'3" 200lbs last year and i say he runs a solid 4.5 in the 40 with amazing talent........trust me i know personally:( here is krauss's numbers over 2 years of play. he still has his senior year ahead of him. i really hope the buckeye could just glance at him or he goes somewhere nice but i dont wanna play against him.

121-2587=21.3 yards/rec
32 tds

as for drew carter, i hope he does well too. in 03 he bursted into the scene and was AMAZING. he had the potential to be one of the greats at the rate he was going and then he had his injury. i really felt bad for the guy but i hope he can get another chance and show what he can do.

WR "Bam" Childress (official thread)

I dont know how many are watching the Patriots-Bengals game, but Im pretty impressed with (unsigned) Bam Chldress. He is looking good as the game is progressing, getting more and more looks. He has returned a kick off and made a few impressive plays when thrown to. They said the onlyreason you didnt hear much of his name in the Buckeye regular season was that we had recievers of: Holmes, Jenkins, and Gamble. I wouldnt be suprised at all if Bam gets a contract offered by the Patriots.

Good luck Bam!

Performing well in the preseason has never been Bam's problem.
Yeah, thats what they said (unfortunitly). They said that he was key in our post-season games as well as looking good in Spring drills/game. I would say that they are pretty correct there, but hes looking good right now, and hoepfully that says sumthing to Coach B.

Now let me see how Krenzels doing with recievers like Chad Johnson! lol

Hey, I'm not knocking Bam at all. I hope he tears it up and finds himself on the opening day roster. The fact he's playing well right now shouldn't really surprise anyone, IMO. If it carries over to the regular season I will be somewhat surprised, and I hope I am.

Looks like the game will end with the Bengals posession and if not, a kneel when the Pats get the ball back.

Childress's numbers today:
2nd in the Pats receving Corps today with 3 catches for 39 yrds. Also returned 1 kick for 21 yrds.

He looked pretty good, lets hope it stays that way.
