WR Bam Childress (Official Thread)

I was just wondering if anyone will give "Bam Bam" a shot at minicamp...I would love to see him get a chance with the Chiefs as a S.T. specialist. Dante Hall and Bam Childress on kickoff return....WOW...

Your Thoughts....
considering he never really excelled returning kicks at the college level, i would say his chances are very slim. I could never understand why he was so good in practice and spring games, but rarely did anything during games. Maybe our new "spread offense" would have showcased his talents. Good Luck Bam.

Bam was going to be the #2 WR last year with Holmes (check out last season's opener with Cincy...Bam was getting thrown to a lot), but just wasn't consistent. Then this other kid by the name of Ginn came along...

Dante could recover all of Bam's fumbles.

In todays (5/1) Dispatch there is an article talking about how Bam is riding a collercoaster of bitersweet emotions over not being pick up by a team. He said that he thought for sure that if he wasnt drafted, that he would be signed as a FA, but still didnt. Though this stung he said that this was a prime example as to why he wanted to get his degree so badly. He also went on to say that hopefully he will get picked up when the second batch of FA's are able to ahowcase their abilities to teams, and if he still doesnt than he would play in Canada as a fall back plan while owning his own buisness. Bams's buisness will consist of raising, breeding and training Pitbulls, and can be contacted for info in a short time at www.legendaryPits.com. In his words, this was his plan and wants (raising Pits) since he was about 14 years old, so I hope his path in life stays long and straight.

Tidbit:
When Bam was coinsidering a college choice, he wasnt the most desired player even though he was Ohios Mr. Football...In his recruiting class, Marco Cooper was the most highly rated prospect. And we all know how Marco Cooper worked out!?

Good for him, however we all know pre-season camps were never his problem. Hopefully he has learned to take that into the real games now. Lot of B10 flavor in that article huh?

Childress really ended up signing with the right team. In the Pats system with all the receivers that they use he can actually be used pretty well without his lack of size hurting him to much. Good luck Bam

At least he's getting a year to prove himself. So many players don't get that chance, and he couldn't have been picked up by a better team. Even if he rides the bench, they're very likely headed to the super bowl.

If you guys didn't notice, Ricky Bryant, the wr first mentioned in the article, is also a former buckeye. He transferred out of tOSU for Hofstra, i believe right before the 2002 season.
