Indy Star
Gonzalez hoping to make his own name in NFL

Anthony Gonzalez relishes his gritty job.
Yes, he?s in Indianapolis to catch passes, study hard and get his timing down with Peyton Manning. But to the Colts? first-round draft pick, it?s less about upstaging his new Pro Bowl teammates, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, or becoming a superstar than it is about winning.
?The thing that?s most important to me is whether my teammates and coaches appreciate my contributions to winning football games,? Gonzalez said Sunday at his introduction in Indianapolis. ?When Peyton drops back, I want him to know he can throw it to me, and that if he does throw it to me, I?ll catch it.?
Gonzalez is a throwback to old-school football.
